"I bought the black lock to replace the missing lock on my Honda Rebel. I removed the mounding tabs, drilled a hole in the middle of the lock and ran a carriage bolt through it and held it with a lock nut. The housing is aluminum, so it won't rust. Lock cylinder itself is metal. Can't comment on which bars it fits around as I didn't mount it that way.
The shackle itself rattled a bit when there wasn't tension on it. I corrected this by putting a bit of silicone at the base of the lock where the shackle goes into the housing to give upward tension when it is closed. Works fine, but a spring from the factory would have been nice. That's the only reason "ease of use" got 4 stars."

"Actually it will not fit around a 1/2" sissy bar. It's a good product and would fit snuggly around my 7/8" handlebars but not around the 1/2" sissy bar and frame"
