"I have an older 1979 Suzuki GS1000L, and was worried I wouldn't be able to find a QUALITY windshield. I was prepared to spend more $$$, but found the Street Shield EX was everything I wanted for less money. I will definitely recommend this product to my riding buddies!"

National Cycle Street Shield EX,
March 22, 2009
By matman189from Stanville, KY
Pros: Very Please with the fit, looks and function Cons: up right support ball and socket support a little difficult to install
"This way my second purchase of a wind shield through JCW. The first one was a dissappointment and I am sorry to say I had to send it back. But with the help of the online dialogue (Great Tool) I purchased the shieled that fits, looks and most importantly functions great on my Yamaha VStar. The next time I purchase anything from JCW I will use the Diaogie box provided. I have a suggestion for anyone purchasing this item: Use a hair dryer on the sockett end on the wind shield for a short time. This will allow the ball on the supprt rod to easily pop in. Don't over heat!"

Frustrated,
December 30, 2008
By ACRanger
Pros: Looks good once on Cons: Much harder than I expected
"This took the 2 of us a good 2 hours to install. 1st off, the Handlebars clamps are for both 1" and 7/8" bars. Yeah, right. For the 7/8 bars on the Honda Rebel, allow 5-7 wraps of electrician tape. The lower clamps take a while to figure out. Then there are the bars that go from the windscreen to the clamps. All 4 are very difficult to pop in, but easy, especially the lowers, to fall out. Plus, at least on the Rebel, they block out a good half of the turn signals."

Pros: nice price Cons: bad mounts
"looks good i put it on my 2008 suzuki m50 boulvard. i have 1in bars, kit did not include the right mounts although ad said it would, after modifing mounts to fit i found the fork clamps too small and very cheap luckly i work for a hardware store i liked the windshield but was very upset with the mounts found it easier to just leave it on"

Pros: Easy mount Cons: Distortion around top preimeter of windshield
"The windshield is ok easy mount but the distortion drives me crazy you either have to hunker or raise above windshield to see road clearly, thinking about packing it up and sending back for another style."

Great Windshield For the Money,
October 24, 2008
By thealchemist12from Atlanta
Pros: Good fit for universal shield, price Cons: Cheap clamps for forks
"Bike: 1996 Honda Magna 750 with 1 inch handlebars.
I purchased this windshield because i felt it would keep the sporty lines of my bike. The handlebars on my bike are 1 inch in diameter.
***I had previously ordered the ZX019517 kit, but they came only with the 7/8 inch clamps which does not work with this bike. (The kit says they include both the 1 inch and 7/8 inch clamps but they do not)***
The installation directions need some improvement, but other than that it wasn't half bad.
Overall I really like the look of the bike with the windshield added. The windshield does help keep the cold arctic blasts of wind off my chest. Like many other shields however, you need to get the final adjustments and angle right to combat wind buffeting in the helmet area(I wear a full face helmet). I may need to add a set of lowers as well to see if that helps."

Pros: Rock Solid Cons: Goofy Instructions
"I purchased a cheaper windshield a few months ago, trying to save a few bucks, and regretted it. I decided rather than make the same mistake twice I’d spend a little more and hoped it would be worth it. This windshield is worth every cent. It is rock solid and, once you get past the goofy instructions, easy to install and adjust. It is thicker and more ridged than the other, doesn’t flex, even at highway speeds, and is easy to adjust both the height and slant. And kudos to J.C. Whitney as well. Fed-Ex lost the order and when I contacted J.C. Whitney they tried to trace the order. When that failed they send me another one via overnight. Not too many companies are that dedicated anymore."

Pros: Looks, material quality Cons: Not shaped right for small bike
"I have a Honda Rebel 250. Although JCW lists this as a generic fit for this bike, it really doesn't fit well. The cutouts for the turn signals are more appropriate for a larger bike with a wider spread. With a bit of realignment of the signals and playing around with the fit of the windshield, it will serve its purpose, but not have a custom look. Materials overall were pretty good, although the lower supports don't seem very secure in the windshield. Installation is not difficult, but take your time, as the instructions are by design generic, and you'll need to figure the best alignment for your bike. The pipe clamps for the lower supports seemed cheesy at first, but make sense given the nature of the generic design. If you take time to think through how they will be on the front struts, you can come up with a pretty clean look. Overall happy with the purchase, but will look for a better fitting unit for a smaller bike next time around."

Great buy for the money.,
August 14, 2008
By Spl170sfrom Indiana
"Bought for my 08 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom. Overall it looks great on the bike and does get the wind off my chest while riding. With the adjustable angle setup with the mounting, it gives you alot of flexibility in function and looks to your bike. I wish they offered it in a model about 3-4" taller though. I am 6'1" on my bike and could use a little more height. My biggest complaint with the setup is the lower mounts. they are cheap hose clamps that will scratch your forks unless you put something between them and your forks. i used a piece of think foam to protect mine. Easily removable, i don't know about that. it could be but im not sure i would want to often."

Pros: Inexpensive, keeps wind off, easy to install, easy to adjust
"Instructions left a little to be desired so I laid the parts out and figured it out without them. Not many parts, so it wasn't difficult. Only took 25 minutes to install and get adjusted to where I wanted it. The fork clamps are cheesy though - basic hardware store hose clamps that DON'T look good on the bike-therefore only 4 stars for appearance. For the $$, it's a great deal."

Pros: Excellent quality and looks. Cons: Instructions are in need of improvement. Frustrated easily.
"The windshield was every thing and more that I had hoped for. Accuracy of the description and expedient shipment is a plus. The two sided instructions are hard to understand, especially flipping back and forth. The hose clamps could be upgraded. Such a nice windshield and hardware to finish it off with clamps was a bit cheesy. Overall I highly recommend this windshield, but have patience when installing."

Pros: It's made well, works great,on my 08 V Star 1100 Classic Cons: I wish it had some padding to go between the hose clamps, and my chrome forks.
"The product is GREAT! It wasn't real hard to install.A little tricky.I just don't like putting hose clamps on my chrome forks. You should give some kind of padding or tape to put between the clamps, and the chrome on the forks. I have recommended this windshield to many friends already."

Pros: very good quality for the price,I was plesantly surprised when it arrived (earlier than projected). Cons: the worst thing about it,isn't the product,it's the installation instructions
"this is a very good windshield for the money,I installed it on my 2001 suzuki 1500 intruder and it looks great! I had to place the lower supports at a different possition from the directions due to a chrome shield on the front forks,I get a little added vibration at idle, but it's fine at running speed.I have gotten quite a few comments on how good it looks on a larger bike."

Pros: just the right size for me, big enough to keep from getting hit by bugs & sand small enough to look sporty. Cons: slight distortion in curved areas
"I installed this in about 20 min. easy directions. A nice clamp for the fork leg would be good instead of a hose clamp. Love the adjustability of height and rake. I have custom flames paint job and it looks sporty, doesn't ruin the custom look of my honda magna."
