Careful If You Have A Tonneau Cover, July 21, 2007

Pros: Well built, appears solid
Cons: Mounting plate is different than shown and will not work with Rolltop Tonneau Covers

"I liked the looks of the product and was looking forward to using it, but when it arrived, the mounting plate that attaches to the tailgate turned out to be different than pictured in the catalog and on the website. It now is bent to attach over the top of the tailgate, not just flat to mount on the inside of the tailgate as shown. With my RollTop Tonneau Cover, the mounting bracket would not let the cover close properly, so I was not able to use the product. It may work fine with other covers that mount over the top of the tailgate and will definitely be great for those who don't use tonneau covers. With this bracket design, any cover that butts up against the tailgate from the inside will most likely find problems. If the manufacturer offers a flat plate option like shown in the pictures, I will definitely order one again as the construction was very good and it looked great."
