Cons: NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO TAKE OFF FROM OLD TOP

"UNPACKED & REVIEWED INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. THERE WASN'T ANY INFO INCLUDED AS TO WHAT PARTS FROM THE OLD TOP NEED TO BE REMOVED. SOME THINGS ARE OBVIOUS, LIKE THE SUPPORT RODS BUT THE DOOR SURROUND "COWLING" LOOKED LIKE IT SHOULD STAY ON. I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT PEOPLE AT THE MANUFACTURER, THEY WERE FANTASTIC. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE & GAVE "HINTS" TO HELP WITH THE DISMANTLE & INSTALLATION.
WASN'T SURE WHAT THE QUALITY WOULD BE LIKE COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL JEEP TOP, BUT SO FAR IT SEEMS VERY WELL MADE. THERE ARE FOAM BAR PROTECTORS THAT SLIDE ON BUT ALSO COME OFF EASILY--THEY NEED TO BE SECURED, PROBABLY WITH SOME TAPE. SIDES & BACK WINDOW COME ON/OFF VERY EASILY.
I WILL ONCE MORE "PRAISE" THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT FOLKS..IF YOU BUY THIS TOP YOU WILL HAVE NO WORRIES ABOUT WHO TO GO TO FOR HELP.
I WOULD SUGGEST THAT THEY INCLUDE A DISSASSEMBLY PAGE IN THE INSTRUCTIONS SO YOU KNOW WHAT TO TAKE OFF BEFORE INSTALLATION."

Supertop for '98 Jeep Wrangler, May 8, 2008

"I love my new top for my 1998 Jeep Wrangler. It took several hours to put on my jeep, but was easy to take off and put back on. I went through an automated car wash and water came in through the top of my door and along the bottom in the back seat. I haven't gone back through the wash to see if it still leaked after removing and relining it so it was centered better. I love the tinted windows. If anyone has any suggestions about lining it up so it won't leak, please let me know.
I received a gift certificate with the purchase of my top. I'm having a hard time deciding what to spend it on. There are so many things to choose from!!"

Cons: Hard time getting the hard doors adjusted

"Very cool product. Looks really great with the tinted windows. One issue I had was on my 05 I had a tough time getting the hard doors to close right. Emailed best top and they had me reverse the brackets that holds the spreader / door frame from one side to the other and now all is right with the world! Do it!"

Pros: Looks Great, Nice tight fit, no leaks or wind.
Cons: None

"Just put on my 2005 Jeep Wrangler X. Looks nice. It fit better than I thought it would. Took it out for a weekend of fishing and camping, I got rained on for 2 days-no leaks. The rear window comes up and out easy for access to the back. Don't waste your money on a brief top and rear window it is a waste of money, get the soft top. You wll be glad that you did. Installed in about 1 1/2 hours.

"The top was a breeze to put on, so much so I kept thinking I must have missed something. I had to do a little bit of drilling since the jeep originally had a hard top, but nothing crazy. Looks terrific and fits nicely on my 92 Jeep. I was concerned when I ordered the top about how well it would seal around the full steal doors. To my surprise, it's snug and there are no leaks around the doors. It's the raining season right now in FL, which means nasty storms daily and I haven't had any issues. Love the top!"
