I installed the Perma-Cool filter on my carb'd VW Squareback and have been using it for several years. I've already replaced the fuel filter cartridge once (bought the replacement here at JC Whitney). The filter does a GREAT job at filtering the fuel and removing the water. My car is no longer a daily driver so condensation does build up in the tank (northern Oregon). I also have a clear fuel filter right before the mechanical fuel pump that I use as a visual indicator for the presence of fuel in the system. That filter media still looks new so I know the Perma-Cool filter is doing its job VERY well!"

"After finding out my fuel/water separator was bypassed on my 1987 Ford F350, I started looking for a new one. This seems like a great product, but on 9-30-06 my truck was hit by a trash truck. It shook rust loose and did extensive damage to my truck, thus, this filter will NOT stop debris. If you buy this, just make sure you have a filter before it because it definitely does not stop rust or debris. It has, however, drained water when I opened the peacock. It does seem to work to stop water from getting into your fuel system."
