Customer Reviews for MAGNA GUARD™ OIL FILTER MAGNETS

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Does what a magnet does, November 11, 2009
By Anonymous from St Louis, MO

Pros: Easy to install, doesn't interfer with oil, Collects metal pieces
Cons: Sometimes tricky to remove from old filter.

"I've been using this magnet for over a year now. I decided to use this to make sure I was removing any metal in the oil. Sure enough, I can spot small metal particles on the paper towel I use to clean this magnet. There seemed to be much more shinny metal on the magnet early on, but now as more miles are on the engine, there is less metal on the magnet. I guess it's doing it job.

There is one minor issue. If you are using a smaller filter, it may be harder to remove the magnet from a used filter. I use a small pair of needle-nose pliers and tweezers to remove it. Once you get the hang of it, it only adds 2 to 3 minutes to the oil change routine.
