Cons: Tech info in ad would have been helpful in making this purchase
"Of course I'm using this in a different application and anyone buying this is going to have to be creative in how to mount it and make it work. One reviewer said the unit did not function. That may have been due to not scraping the varnish coating off of the bare solid copper lead wire. I had the same initial result. The stroke is 3/8". Internal resistance is .6 ohms. It draws 20 amps on 12 volts. Hope this helps"

"The kit is well made and very complete. The instructions are sxcellent and the device should work well if the stroke is adequate for your installation. The instructions say to check that the solenoind has a stroke of 1 1/4", the stroke is only 3/8".
I bought this device to use for releasing a latch on my Motor Home. This latch is a conventional auto trunck latch and requires a stroke of at least 1". The solenoid only has a stroke of 3/8" so was inadequate for my purpose."
