"The product description indicates the switch can be used for Normally Closed or Normally Open circuits. However, the ones I received were of the Normally Closed type (i.e., when magnet is close, the circuit is complete - CLOSED).
The type needed for an alarm that senses a current change - e.g., a door opening or light turned on, requires a "Normally OPEN" switch. This is so that when the switch magnet is moved away - the switch closes and completes (closes) the circuit.
There is no option in the ordering shopping cart to specify which type of switch is desired. If you need a "Normally CLOSED" switch - order this one.
If you need a "Normally OPEN" switch - DON'T choose this one! Otherwise the product looks O.K. - it's small, and appears to be well made."
