Nice but dosen't last, August 18, 2008

Pros: nice & small cover
Cons: Material quality does not last

"This is the second year using this cover. The first year, the tabs that go into the side rails started to loosten from poor stitching and also because the cover has to be stretched to make them fit into the side rail.
This year, the stitching has torn and created a vertical tear in the material going up both sides. Obviously when it rains - the water enters the back. As a stop gap, I use good old duck tape.
I have a bestop bikini top and it is great. I think Bestop missed the mark on the "half cover." Next time I will go for the normal full cover with elastic ends.
There really is no good functional reason to get the half cover - obviously, you cannot drive with it on and the normal top must be completed off. With the doors off, the sides of the cover flop in the wind and let rain in. This is a bad design with poor quality materials and workmanship.
Sorry...."

Good top, not best top, August 15, 2008
By Jeepseeker from NC

Pros: It keeps the rain out
Cons: Doesn't fit like the picture, needed prop under it for sagging and rain run off.

"It fits snug on the sides of the rear, but very loose everywhere else. I needed to get a pole to place under it to make like a tent so water wouldn't collect. The day after I used it I noticed a 3mm cresent shaped hole. However, the hole dosen't go all the way throught the fuzzy white backing. I think it was shipped that way, since I haven't gotten any more holes. And I haven't handled it any different. Otherwise, it keeps the rain out. It is handy to carry around and whip out when needed."

Pros: waterproof, nice fit
Cons: elastic straps on back i'm sure will wear out fast

"This is the one I was looking for. Looks good. Already had it on all night during a rainstorm and the inside was bone dry the next day. Also fits perfect w/ the soft top folded down inside a "soft top storage boot" and my "Window Roll" from Cloverpatch strapped on top of that, plus a bikini top. I do have to fold my mirrors in & remember to readjust before i start driving, and yes the soft white inside of the cover will get dirty but other than that I'm happy w/ my trail cover."

Pros: Uses existing rails. Covers well with doors removed. Water proof. Good quality material. Usable carrying/storage case.
Cons: If doors are on, does not allow for factory mirrors.

"I had an old cover that leaked badly. Bought this one and it is great. With the clips and rail fasteners, it holds and protects well. Only issue is with the door mirrors. It is designed to be used with the doors removed. Easy on, easy off. It also fits back in to the carrying/storage case fairly easily."

Pros: Very water repellent
Cons: Poor straps

"1988 Jeep Wrangler

The over quality of the material is good, but the elastic hold downs in the rear are very poor. Mine are a month old and already have stretched out and will not hold cover in place. The design is good except there should have been a cut out for the door mirrors. It will not strap down with mirrors in place."

Best Bestop Trail Cover, June 29, 2008

Pros: Fits really snug over top of bars. Really weatherproof.
Cons: Due to it's bulkiness it's a little cumbersome for one person to put on until you get the knack of it.

"I have a '99' Jeep Wrangler and have only a very few months out of the year in the Pacific Northwest that I can run without my hard top on and needed some thing to cover the jeep to protect in from the rain. Once you figure the best way to place the top on when having to do it by yourself, it becomes a breeze to put on, but the real test came when we had a gully washer of a rain storm with high winds. When I went out the next morning, there was only a slight puddle in the top that was easily dispatched and the jeep on the inside was nice and bone dry. I beat myself up for not investing in one of these when I first purchased the jeep. I am usually not an impressionable person, but I am impressed with this cover and would recommend it to anyone."

Best Cover on the market! did not dissappoint., June 28, 2008

Quality/Construction: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: Ease of use, Waterproof, price
Cons: did not fit mirrors mounted to half doors

"After pricing a bunch of covers, because i am too lazy to keep putting on my soft top, this Bestop cover is exactly what i was looking for! Cost effective, waterproof (so you need to take it off every now and then...), quality construction, one-person on and off, and easy to store. Cant say enough good things. I did get it to fit with the soft frame and top still attached to the jeep> i slid the frame forward, so that the cover would be flush to the back of the jeep. The only downside was that the mirrors for half doors need to be folded in, and the clips that cover the doors were a tight fit because i have a sahara with the built-in step. took a little more pulling to get it to fit."

Pros: This product stays on and is easy to put on.
Cons: Does not fit with the top up.

"This product is easy to put on and it keeps one from putting up/down stress on the soft-top. Unfortunately, on my 06' TJ it does not fit with the top up. Not even close. It seems to be the exact same size as the soft-top, making fiting nearly impossible."

A worthwhile purchase, May 8, 2008
By DaveSoCal from Southern California
Appearance: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Ease of Use/Installation: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Quality/Construction: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

Pros: Fit, durability, ease of use
Cons: Could use more hooks/straps

"Bought this for my 84 CJ7. This is a high quality product that is definitely worth the price. Lets you leave the top off year-round if you chose. Easy to put on if the skies start looking cloudy. Takes about 3 minutes for one person to do. The material is heavy duty and stitching is top quality. The dimensions are such that it fits perfectly with no slop. I've yet to use it in the rain, but it is great at keeping dirt, leaves, and cats out. It could definitely use a few more hooks and/or straps or something to keep it tight around the door openings; it seems like in a really strong wind-blown rain you could still get a little water inside maybe. The material on the inside is a soft bright white that seems like it could easily get dirty. Other than that, it's pretty good. The cover does fold into a respectable size.
NOTES: This uses the soft top rails around the edge of the tub on the rear sides, for little plastic tabs to hook under. You'll need those rails. Also, if you have rocker gaurds, you may need some different hooks that go under the doors. There are four grommet holes in it, not sure what for. You'll want to buy four 7/16 inch hole plugs ($2) to plug these."

Pros: Great Quality material, easy to put on, very waterproof, Custom fit look
Cons: Hard to get back in the bag, so just fold it and put it in the trunk.

"This is a great product, A must have. Fits great, very easy to put on, looks like I had it custom made. My wife put it on in less than 5 Minutes. My soft top is folded down and the cover fits perfect over the jeep. I really don't know what the one reviewer is talking about having to remove the soft top for the cover to fit. Now I can leave my top down the whole summer. I also leave my full doors on and it fits over the mirrors fine. A great deal!"

Pros: material and look

"This cover is pretty sweet. I have a 92 YJ Wrangler and it looks really cool on it. My only issue is that I haven't removed my doors so the mirrors are in the way of the cover completely sealing / covering the entire cab. I like how light and easy it is to put on, yet is a soft durable cover. Once you get the hang of it you can throw it on by yourself in the rain. 1000 times better than dealing with my soft top."

Pros: easy to use, durable, snug fitting

"I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and this cover is made of quality material that can stand the harshest of weather (6 severe thunderstorms and two tornado warnings so far!) It kept my jeep nice and dry and was easy to install (a must for jeep chicks!). It took my daughter and I all of five minutes to get it on. It's very snug and has plenty of fittings and ties to keep it in place. Once it's on, it's not going anywhere!"

"I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4-door. If you need a cover to throw on OVER your Jeep WITH the soft top folded down, it is not this one. The descrition is not very clear, but this cover does not fit unless the soft top is COMPLETELY REMOVED. So, if you need a cover that will allow you to leave the soft top on but folded down , it is not this one. Other than that it is a nice cover. The backing is very soft."

"I live in Tenneessee and have a 2004 Jeep Rubicon. Anyone that has lived in Tennessee knows that the weather can change in a minute. I had left my soft top down a couple of times this summer and sure enough I woke up in the middle of the night to hear the sound of rain. I had to run downstairs, out into the rain, and attempt to put my top back on. If you own a Jeep or even thinking of getting a Jeep, you need this Trail Cover. It is easy to use and will also keep the interior from fading during those summers when you leave the top down for a few days."
