Best Vintage tires for the money....,
February 17, 2009
By DucatiDewfrom Ashland, Ky
Pros: Easy mounting, good looking, good cornering power. Cons: None that I have found.....
"The Cheng Shin 180 tires are exact replicas of the Dunlop K70 tires which were standard equiptment on most British bikes and many others. They are about half as expensive as the Dunlops and the rubber seems much softer. This soft rubber makes for good cornering and a great ride even with 32 lbs. air pressure. Actually, in my opinion, they are better tires than the real thing....DucatiDew."

Pros: Tire looks great and mounted without much difficulty Cons: Tire causes front forks to bounce when going from 40-50 mph
"Whitney said it was a mechanical problem. Mechanic said tire was balanced.Very annoying riding like this. Old tire did not do this. Nothing was changed but the tire.Any recommendations?"

Pros: Price, availability, retro Cons: not the best tire for performance
"I bought this ribbed tire to replace the original one on a 1974 Honda CB200. It's design is nearly identical. After thirty years of not touching a motorcycle, I managed to mount this tire on the rim with a minimum of difficulty."

Pros: Very easy to mount
"I bought this tire to mount on my sidecar(Spirit of America) and it mounted with ease. Time will tell on the wear, but at this price, I just ordered another one for my other sidecar and one for a spare. I wear sidecar tread faster than most hackers do, so these tires will get a full-on road test that I can hopefully remember to report on later."

Pros: Great tire at a great price Cons: None
"These were the only tires I could find in the size I needed for my 1971 Kawasaki 350 A7SS Avenger restoration project. They were recommended by a friend who restores and races bikes, so I gave them a try. Although I have not yet got to ride the bike to see how they perform, the tires appear to be of good quality. I gave them 5 stars across the board."
