Great, November 10, 2008
By Impulse from Syracuse, NY

Pros: Extremely easy installation
Cons: Looks nothing like the picture

"The installation for this product is so, so, so, easy. 4 bolts and that's it. Take's about 10 to 15 minutes. Don't be dooped by the picture though it look's nothing like it and none of the accessories in the picture come with it.
Overall I would recommend this to anyone!!!!"

Pros: Ease of Installation
Cons: Does not look like the picture

"I installed this in less than 30 minutes, which included removal of the existing tow hook. It's a fantastic product ... looks good, works as described, so easy to install a child could do it. I can't think of anything bad to say about it, and would recommend it to anyone. I installed it on a 2007 Wrangler X Four-door."

Pros: Heavy and sturdy material, and less expensive than OEM hitch.
Cons: You can't use the bolts and nuts from the old towing hook.

"I took me 10 minutes to remove the OEM hook, and 10 minutes to install this new hitch. The construction is solid and fits perfect in the frame. It looks exactly like the Mopar part, but with the confidence and quality of Hidden Hitch®"

Pros: No Drilling, impressive bolt feeders.
Cons: Haven't found one yet.

"I got this for christmas, and went out to see how hard it would be to put on. I was done in less than an hour. I had already removed the tow hook previously. I had difficulty putting in the first two bolts (because I had to hold the hitch and get the bolts started by myself). Once these are in to hold it, it gets easy. The Bolt feeders included made the installation simple. Only issue I had is the metric nuts on a Jeep (yes metric on a jeep). The correct bolts were included, but my tool kit in the Jeep now includes metric wrenches too."

2007 Wrangler X installation ease, May 3, 2007

"Though not like the advertised picture, this receiver hitch was way too easy to install. Removed the old tow bar and 3 mounting bolts, then replaced with hitch with included 4 mounting bolts and washers. Placing bolts above muffler and feeding into four pre-drilled holes allowed the hitch to be installed in under 30 minutes. Muffler did not have to be lowered or moved. I could have made it under 15 minutes, instead I had to grind a oversize weld off the front of the crossmember to get the hitch assembly to fit properly. An air grinder with round stone did the trick here. Torgue of bolts requires 75 Ft lbs (900 in lbs) and I only have a 750 in lb torque wrench...so I need to borrow a torque wrench to do the final tightening. Overall, a very good product.
Prior to ordering I was wondering how the pictured hitch would mount. I crawled under the back bumper and discovered a hefty crossmember across the back of the jeep. Well folks, that's where it mounts to. Picture a receiver tube with two vertical 1/4 inch plates welded to it, front and back with four holes for mounting...there you go...the hitch.
Now for the negative...only thing I see is if you get off-road alot, the receiver sticks out about 6 inches behind the bumper and the 2 inch tube is below stock bumper. You loose a little rear incline clearance. Just weight the alternative...pull a boat or trailer or go 4 wheeling. I needed the boat pulling capability. With only 4 bolts, it would be easy to remove for those special off-road occasions.
I would recommend this Class III hitch to all 2007 Wrangler X owners."

A breeze to install, January 26, 2007

"I put this hitch on my 2007 JK (Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4-door). Since the vehicle only has 300 miles on it, taking the rear tow hook off (which is required) was easy to do. Tow hook was 3 bolts that go into 3 weld nuts on the other side of the bracket.

The hitch doesn't look like the picture which is fine... the JK hitch consists of the receiver and two small brackets welded on that have 4 weld nuts and comes with the 4 bolts to match. These 4 bolts go through the holes in the frame where the hook once was. Yes, there is an extra hole there for the 4th bolt, no drilling is required. The bolts go in pretty tight and close near the exhaust. I could install w/o removing the exhaust muffler. I had to start the bolts with a wrench until the started to go in, then there was enough room down there between the bolt and muffler for me to fit in a socket wrench.

I don't know what aftermarket wiring is available for this vehicle. So far I have nothing and the dealer wants $79 for an 7-pin wire harness then another $15 for the 7-pin to 4-pin converter. Ultimately I only need a 4-pin so I don't know if I want to shell out another hundo for the wiring.

I would recommend this hitch to others looking for a good class III hitch that is easy to install."

"Ease of Installation on a 99 Wrangler was not too hard. I do recommend Jack Stands to hold the Hitch in Position to get all of the holes lined up. Also it uses the existing bumper mount holes so you have to remove the bottom bumper bolts first (this did require a 4 foot breaker bar). Also putting in the drivers side upper mount bolt in is a bit difficult (gas tank in the way) but do-able if you leave all of the other bolts loose so you can wiggle around the hitch a-bit to get it though the hole. All in all good hitch you just need a little bit of patience and persistence. Did it my self in 1.5 hours."

"Put this in a '91 YJ. It did require drilling two holes in to the wheel well fram member and cuting 1/4" off of the end of the suspention bolts. things don't all ways line up right so have a half round file handy. The hitch is extermly beffy, how ever DOSE NOT COME WITH the ball, ball mount and pin that is shown in the picture.

The wiring is extermy simple too. I recomentd taking loos the rail light asembly and making the connecton to that. That way you have not cut into the chassy harness.

If you can change you own oil and run a drill you can install this hitch."
