Pros: easy to assemble, lots of extra storage.
"Needed somewhere to put my generator on my travel trailer. This is a very inexpensive, multi-functional item and it solved multiple issues."

good value for your dollar,

Pros: easy to assemble , easy to install , good value for the dollar
Cons: could have came with refelctorized tape
"I purchased this item for hauling items. It is a good deal for the money. I only use it on the weekends for transporting yard waste. I feel that if I was hauling heavy items everyday, I would have purchased a larger and heavier duty similar item. Overall good buy."

Pros: Once it arrived, it was very easy to assemble and place on my vehicle. It appears to hold the 500#.
Cons: It seems a bit unstable... it moves side to side and the tubing could be a bit longer to add stability
"Overall, very satisfied with the hitch haul and the delivery. It would be nice to get more information when shipping is delayed. The cargo net is a must if you are hauling smaller items."

Hitch haul for 2" receiver,
June 5, 2008
By CamperInVa
from Virginia
|
Pros: Easy to assemble and seems sturdy enough to handle the advertised 500# rating.
Cons: Stock thickness could be more.
"I purchased the hitch haul to go on the rear of my 5th wheel camper to carry either bikes or a cooler. The only problem I encountered was the square tubing wasn't long enough to accommodate a rear mounted spare tire. The tube did not go into the receiver as far as I would have liked it too. On a positive note, the first one got lost in shipping and JCW shipped me another in 2 days as I needed before going out of town. The cargo net was thrown in for free which was a nice suprise!! I would recommend the product."

pretty good carrier,

Pros: Seems to be well designed, easy hookup to vehicle
Cons: No instruction sheet for assembly
"I was a little disappointed in the fact that there was no assembly instructions. I looked at the picture on the box to see where the reinforcing bars went. For anyone mechanically challenged it could be a problem. Other than that it was worth the money. I loaded about 125lbs. of yard waste on it to haul to the dump and it handled it without a problem. I have a 2008 Hyundae Santafe and I don,t want to carry Yard waste inside the vehicle. This seems like it will work just fine."

Pros: Very easy to hook up to vehicle
Cons: Bikes don't fit, bike holders don't work , the carrier once in the hitch has a lot of play.
"I am kinda disappointed with this item. The picture makes it look awesome. There are three bikes loaded on the carrier with the tire holders. The rack is to small for my mountain bike, and the tire holders are to small to hold the tire. I had to have my friend weld tire holders to the base of the carrier and also notch out a piece of steel for the rear wheel to fit. The price is great but be prepared to modify this item. And fye it only holds 2 bikes max or else you are going to scratch up the bikes if you can get 3 on there."

2005 1500 Chevy Silverado Install,
July 15, 2007
By BigMac

Pros: Carrier installed on my truck without any problems
Cons: I would recoomend some reflective tape or reflector on the carrier from a safety perspective.
"I have used the carrier to carry firewood, coolers, etc. to/from the beach. I think it works great. It installs and removes easily and it was relatively simple to assemble. As stated there is no Pin inlcuded in the kit. So make sure you have one before you use the carrier."

"I installed this on my '05 Lincon Aviator, loaded it up and never looked back. I also purchased the side rails and the cargo netting (rather than using my own tie-downs).
Price and shipping were ok especially since I didn't have to haul it all home. It actually arrived in two days but I live down state in Illinois and I believe they ship from Chicago.
Instructions: They could do better here. They could be a bit more detailed, but it wasn't all that difficult to figure out. Installing to my truck took all of 2 minutes. Be sure you have a hitch pin since it doen't come with one. Not sure if they mention that or not.
Took me about 45 min to assemble including the side rails. And that's after my drill died and I had to do the final few screws by hand.
The Siderails worked pretty good and added some additional support to the two coolers and the remaining gear I was carrying.
I had this stacked up pretty good so I'm thinking I'll be purchasing the light kit before I use it next time. My friend told me he could see my taillights were blocked a bit by my gear, but he could still see the top brake light and my truck has turn signals on the side mirrors.
I was taking things on and off the carrier several times throughout the trip and I was glad I had the netting. One improvement I'd make is to have the hooks permanently connected to the netting. They are made to be adjustable but they can come off when you are handling it. One dropped on the floor and I found it later. The solution was to keep the netting in a bag. Problem Solved.
Overall, I'm rather happy with the carrier. It was very sturdy even with my smaller 1 1/4" receiver. I was flying down the highway (going just a bit over the limit) and some rather bumpy country roads. I could tell I had more load in back than normal, but otherwise it road well. I even had to climb up a very steep, perhaps 40 deg, driveway and later back down it again. I thought for sure I'd scrape bottom but I didn't (yes, that's more of a truck suspension thing and doesn't have much to do with this product, but it was still very cool to navigate).
Bottom Line, Good Product, Instructions a bit lacking, and since I keep returning back to these guys, good company."
