Dropped gas mileage., October 19, 2009

Pros: Easy to instal, JCwhitney refunded my money.
Cons: Gas mileage went from 15.7 to 12.7 No difference in performance.

"I purchased air filter for a 2000 Jeep Gr Cherokee thinking I would improve performance and gas mileage. There was no noticacble difference in performance, gas mileage went from 15.7 to 12.7. I noticed the difference in my wallet! Listen, you can't put something like this on a vehicle and not expect to re-program the computer and re-tune, your adding more air flow, the computer is going to tell the fuel sensors to add more fuel to balance out the air fuel mix. Plus I had to put up with, I told you it wouldn't work, from the wife!
I had no problem with return and refund from JCWhitney. Despite a lousy product(from my point of veiw) I will purchase more products from them."

Pros: better gas per gal
Cons: time to install

"i put this on my chevy tb 4.2 I6 ltz. it took some time to install but man does it look good. i also added an air aid tbs and tornado air and im getting 15mpg city and 20mpg highway more. i also notice a heck of a lot more power and tq in the whole range. im not a racer du to the suv and kids so im verry glad bout the gas gain. i highley recomend it to every one."

Pros: nice sound especially if you already have exhuast
Cons: none yet

"I just recently put this on my 02 Dakota. The visual diagrams are a little hard to follow on the one part but otehr than that very clear. Took about 45 minutes to install. Adds a nice rumble in higher RPM's. Makes my exhuast sound healthier. Adds nice look to the engine. No difference in gas millage yet."

"I installed this on my '04 Nissan Xterra. It was real easy to install with basic hand tools. As soon as I left the driveway, I noticed a difference in power. The increase in gas mileage wasn't great but what gas prices were when I installed this, anything helps. I have noticed a 1.5-2.5 mile per gallon increase. I would highly recommend this product especially on a SUV!"

Good Product!, May 8, 2008

Pros: Easy to install. Better proformance, HP & milage.
Cons: Not Quite sure if I like the way the air box extension seals againt the engine compartment hood.

"I installed this on my 1998 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0 engine along with the CAT Back muffler system. I've checked my city-highway mileage many times in the past and always averaged around 15 mpg. After installing both of these systems there was a noticable differance in the idle and rev characteristics of the engine. There also seems to be a power gain. On my first tank of gas I averaged 20.2 mpg on city-highway driving. I'm no lead foot, but I don't drive a 65 either. I haven't been able to check my highway only milesage yet, but I already beat my best of 17 mpg highway with 20.2 city-highway. "Installed the AirRaid CAI on my 2005 Mustang GT in about an hour. Wanted a CAI that didn't require computer retune but could be easily modified at a later date. Several good ones on the market but I liked the AirRaid best of those I looked at. No special reason other than it looked best under the hood; not really into brushed aluminum or shiny finishes under the hood. Most reviews state 30 minutes or less for installation but I took my good time and from opening the box to closing the hood and firing it up it took about an hour. Very good detailed installation instructions and photos; simple tools and no special tricks for the install. No doubt getting more air to engine + more (good) noise from the engine compartment. Didn't realize how restrictive the stock air box is until I compared them side-by-side. The AirRaid Mustang GT CAI is the same as the Rousch CAI only less expensive. As installed per instructions no CEL. Received box in good condition within 5 business days of order with using standard shipping. Good deal & happy with purchase."

"Recently installed this on my 08 sierra. Installation was simple took maybe a half hour. Immediately noticed an improvement in throttle response. I noticed other reviews where people got improved gas mileage and have gotten no improvement in that area but that is not a big deal in my opinion, if I wanted great gas mileage I would not have bought a truck."

"I put this intake system into my 2007 Toyota Tacoma V6. Took me about 40 minutes during my lunch hour to install. My gas mileage has increased and the throttle response is impressive. This is a nice product for the price. I would and will recommend this product the anyone."

"I installed this on my 2001 ford sport trac along with the airaide throttle body spacer. I have noticed a power improvement as well as 2.3 mpg improvment. I have also started to use ethoes fr and started to get another 2.1 mpg improvment. All together I was able to go from 270 miles on a tank to 330 to a tank. This does pay off in the long run."

"I added this product to my 1996 Chevorlet 5.7L Z71, it was a great addition. The power difference was really noticeable. The product was easy to install and looks great in place. Makes the big 5.7 really sound good when you get into it."

"After an exhaust system. I installed this with a poweraide throttle body spacer. Definate improvement. quicker response. easy to put together and install. Though, filter isnt reusable. I cut a silk panty hose and put it on the filter."
