Pros: very nice springs Cons: hardware is to small to fit axle tube of my f-150 4x4

Great product works wonders,
November 6, 2008
By johny87from CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO
Pros: High Quality spring constuction, thick coat of paint Cons: A bit bouncy when empty, and original brackets where to small.
"I bought a new set 32x11 off road tires for 98 ford explorer sport and I had a !big problem!.. whit the rear tires hitting and touching the rear fenders when ever I hit a pot hole, or turn to fast. After I installed the springs this kit gave me a 4" inch lift on the rear tires but I had to use the same axle clamps to mount the spring brackets. Another thing I notice is that when ridding whit passengers I no longer have a sagging rear end and, the truck rides very smooth no more tires rubbing against fenders any more I highly recommend this kit to anybody whit the same problems I had and !DON'T FORGET TO USE LOCK TIED ON ALL BOLTS AND NUTS!"

Pros: really helps with extra loads Cons: The mounting clamps do not fit all differentials
"I like the product it just needed larger clamps for installation on my E250 van. It holds the load and gives me that stiff ride of an empty van."

Pros: LIFTED REAR OF VAN 4". NO SAGGING WHEN I LOAD MY 325LB ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR ON THE EXTERIOR LIFT. Cons: MAKE THE VAN MORE BOUNCY IN THE REAR.
"WHEN I STARTED TO INSTALL THE SPRINGS I DISCOVERED THE CLAMP DID NOT FIT THE AXLE TUBE. SPRING WAS OF VERY GOOD QUALITY BUT THE CLAMP WAS VERY CHEAP.I REPLACED THE CLAMP WITH ONE THAT FIT. IT TOOK ABOUT 15 MIN. PER SIDE TO INSTALL. MADE THE SUSPENTION ALOT MORE BOUNCY. WOULD SUGGEST UPGRADING SHOCKS TO HELP SUPRESS THE BOUNCE."

Pros: AFTER INSTALLED YOU WILL SEE AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE Cons: WRONG MOUNT HARDWARE SENT U BOLTS TOO LARGE MUST BUY SOME FOR MUFFLER TO ATTACH TO LOWER CONTROL ARM
"BEFORE I INSTALLED THE SPRING HELPERS WHEN I HAD A CAR LOAD OF PASSENGERS MY CAR WOULD SIT LOW IN BACK AND WOULD BOTTOM OUT EVERY TIME I HIT A DIP IN THE ROAD. NOW AFTER I INSTALLED THE SPRINGS I CAN SEE AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE THE CAR IS RAISED HIGHER IN THE BACK AND SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF A TRUNK LOAD OF TOOLS AND A FULL LOAD OF PASSENGERS AND IT STILL SITS UP WHEN LOADED DOWN DONT HARDLY EVER BOTTOM OUT ANYMORE UNLES S ITS LOADED DOWN AND I HIT A BIG DIP MOVING FAST. I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THESE YEARS AGO WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR."

Pros: Performed as stated Cons: Mounting hardware for my specific vehicle did not fit
"The product itself is great, works as stated. My only complaint is that the item number, for these helper springs, listed for my truck does not have the correct size mounting hardware. The springs themselves fit but the u-bolts to fasten them to the axle were way to small."

Pros: Very simple installation Cons: May require cutting of spring on some applications
"I installed these helper springs on my 1998 Dodge Dakota 4x4 last week. Without them on, the rear axle was almost hitting the bumper blocks on the frame with 1 ton of weight in the bed. I had to cut about 2 inches from the springs to make them fit. Even with that, my ride height went up by about an inch and you can feel the stiffness in the ride. But the big difference was in the load carrying capability. I only got a 1 inch drop in ride height with 1 ton loaded on the truck. Great ride when loaded. The clamp that holds the spring to the axle should be 3/8 instead of 5/16,(in my opinion) but it seems to hold so far."

Pros: Easy to install and doesn't affect the ride Cons: None for me
"I use this when I tow my travel trailer. I have a 02 Dodge and the suspension has always sagged a little under load. With these I no longer have that problem and the ride is still great."

"This is an awsome product. The hardware is kind of cheap but I loaded the back of my 85 3/4 ton gmc with close to 2000 lbs of concrete after insalling these and the truck only dropped 1-2 inches and the handling and braking was much improved with heavy loads.CAREFUL using these on 2005 1/2 ton silverados. I had to cut the spring so it would not raise the ride height. Cutting the spring actually increased the spring rate from 2000 lbs to 2170 lbs. Once installed it worked great and helped the handling and braking with heavy loads. I would recommend these on any truck that is going to be used for any type of hauling. JC Whitney is great, I received the product 2 days after ordering."

"I have used this product before on my 1980 Ford F100. What I like most about it is that from unladen to half laden you won't even know that it is there. Once the main springs are overladen the helper spring is there to help carry the load and the truck never bottomed up when I hit bumps. very very nice ride even when heavily laden. I am buying this as a gift to a friend of mine."
