Pros: quality construction

"Even though they claim it fits an '89 cherokee, it takes some work. It says a min. of 5" between tire and frame is required, well i would make that 6". I had 5", but then the tire was 1/4" from air bag and would rub on rough terrain, Sooo, i got different rims. Then when I was torquing the bolts that ran through the frame they started to colapse it, Sooo, i skined the frame with some 1/4" steel plate. I looks gret now, but I had to do all of this and then some, so unless you are good at fabricating custom parts, have time, money, and patience, I would NOT reccomend this for anything with a uni-body. I am sure it would work good a a pickup though!"

Air springs, October 22, 2009
By Anonymous from oregon

Pros: Easy to install and fixed the sag
Cons: slighlly bumpy ride with full pressure

"I was able to put the air bags on my 05 tacoma with ease. Everything lined up, the instructions were easy to read, and it took me about 2 hrs. The sag in the truck is gone and now it can handle a load unlike a stock toyota tacoma."

air lift, April 19, 2009
By jsdees from aberdeen,nc

Pros: good clear instructions

"found it to be easy to install on my ford e-150.
directions estimate 1 to 2 hours to install, more
like 4 to 5 unless you have a garage with lifts and
stocked with all the right tools. my advise is to install on easy side of vehicle first. the side without any brake or wiring harnesses. i am glade i
purchased this item and i did install with min skill.

Easy to install, great performance, April 3, 2009
By silentshot from Arlington, TX

Pros: Easy to install instructions. System fit as recommended by manufacturer for Chevy Tahoe 98 4WD
Cons: Rear AC lines (passenger side) runs over leaf springs, needs to move lines during installation no relocation necessary.

"Great system, easy to install. Instructions are clear, photos helps a lot. I installed it in my 1998 Chevy Tahoe 4X4 with rear AC system, at the passenger side required to move AC lines during installation, no relocation needed, at the driver side, be careful with gas tank and a brake line during drilling. Stability improved a lot. If you have basic mechanical knowledge and all required tools it will be really easy to install."

Quick and Simple Install, February 3, 2009
By gonerz from Upper Midwest

Pros: Price, Warranty, and Ease of Installation.
Cons: NONE

"Installation vehicle is a 2005 Chevy Colorado with Z71 package. Honestly, if you can change a tire, you can install this kit. Took me less than an hour and a half with basic hand tools, and a air wrench. If you have any knowledge of mechanical skills, this is a breeze. Fit great, and performs excellently. Definately recommend over air shocks!!"

Pros: Works well and does exactly what they are meant to do.

"I installed these AIR LIFT; REAR RIDE CONTROL LOAD-ASSISTING ADJUSTABLE AIR SPRINGS on my 2001 Dodge. I welded the upper brackets to the frame rather than drilling the holes. It lifted the bed 4” with 22 lbs of air. It was just what I needed to level and pull a 25’ enclosed car hauler with my truck. I considered them to be very easy to install and works well for my purposes. Anytime you buy a product to add to your vehicle as a DIY project, you must be flexible and willing to adapt. If not, you would be better off having it done for you."

2006 Silverado PU, October 30, 2008
By waterhead from Chandler, Texas

Pros: Excellent for load's
Cons: Two different air values and not over axles

"Seen a set of 5000's installed and I needed a little more help over the springs. Not that I'm over loading the truck, it's better to have help than have nothing at all. Needs to be over the axle and not setting on the springs. I mounted mine behind the springs. It seems to work like that. Had plenty of room to locate them there. I love them. Now I need ones to fit the front. The roads are alittle wavey to the deer lease."

99 TOY Xtracab SR5, October 27, 2008
By Capt4503 from No. Idaho

Pros: Works great, Easy to istall and use. A must have for hauling my fav toys
Cons: Should come with a single air splitter as an option.

"I installed this on my 99 Tacoma xtracab SR5. I had an existing 3" lift and that made it super easy to install the bags. I did not get the optional onboard air controls but will order soon. I would highly recommend this product if you carry a load in your smaller truck. It also makes for a nicer ride when I'm unloaded too."

Pros: Easy install and excellent performance.
Cons: Seperate valves for each side.

"This was well worth the time and money. I bought a "T" coupler at lowes for $4 to connect the two sides. Now I can fill both bags even every time. If you have tool boxes on the sides that are being loaded uneven then the 2 valves would be ok."

Pros: Seems to do what is advertised, I'll know more after this weekends' camping trip.
Cons: Crawling around under the truck and being sure the bolts don't hit fuel lines, etc.

"Installed on an F150 longbed. Instructions are decent, the upper bracket is the only real challenge, access is tough and I had to buy some shorter bolts to avoid hitting a fuel line."

Ease of Use/Installation: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5
Features: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5
Quality/Construction: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: Quality materials; works as advertised
Cons: Tricky to install

"Installed these air springs on my 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4WD. The first side took about 2 hours to do. Once installation was understood, the second side took about half an hour. Holes needed to be drilled on both sides - 3 each side. Tip - drill the center hole only first and MAKE SURE that you get the bag and upper bracket perpendicular to the bottom bracket. Otherwise the bag will go crooked and probably fail early. Also, the bottom bracket securing bolt is very sensitive. I over tightened it and the threads easily stripped out making the bag useless. I called the company and they were very helpful. The $82 replacement bag was sold for only $32."

Great product but had to modify, August 7, 2008

Ease of Use/Installation: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5
Features: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Quality/Construction: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: Ease of installation
Cons: had to buy extra bolts

"This product works perfectly for my 07 (new body style) Silverado but my truck has a fully boxed frame and the kit is obviously for a truck that does not have a boxed frame. I had to buy extra self tapping bolts for my application. I am very happy with the function. One fill valve instead of two would be better for me though."

Ease of Use/Installation: 1 out of 5 1 out of 5
Features: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5
Quality/Construction: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: Everything looked good at first.
Cons: Connection to leaf spring problem.

"The top of the leaf spring U-bolts have a bracket which doesn't allow the included mounting brackets to be used. Also, in my application the load would have been entirely on the bags and not on the leaf springs, which would lead to failure in a short time. Unfortunately, I had to send them back."

Ease of Use/Installation: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Features: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Quality/Construction: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: Simple installation. Flawless for 3 years. Great product
Cons: Absolutely none. Just ordered a set for another truck

"The set for the Dodge was very easy to install. I found a place on the frame forward of the right side air bag to mount both air valves without a lot of modification. It worked out better than mounting on the back bumper. With 60lbs of air, they leveled the truck with an 8.5 ft Lance slide-in camper. I also used it to tow a cargo trailer of household 1600 miles. The ride is very good and very stable. With an empty load and minimum pressure, the handling is still very stable with a comfortable ride. I would strongly recommend these for anyone with a slide-in camper or towing a load."
