Excellent Purchase, March 21, 2009
By FrankJ64 from Southern Colorado

Pros: Great price on a quality product
Cons: Maybe works too well

"I have a Chevy S-10 Blazer 2dr. 4X4 w/ 260,000 miles on the original springs and needless to say they were sagging badly. I tried helper springs but they did not restore the ride height and made the back suspension quite stiff even w/o a load. I found these springs online at an incredible price compared to dealer replacement parts at less than half the price. Delivery was quick, about 5 days total and installation was fairly straight forward and simple, although I did require the use of some additional jacks and hand winches to line up the bolts in addition to an air wrench to make removal/installation of the old bolts a breeze. I completed the job in about an hour and a half on my own. After driving around a while I noticed the ride was smoother than before and the rear of the vehicle was back to like new height plus some. With an auto trailer loaded with a mid sized car the Blazer was perfectly level. Unloaded the rear is a bit higher than factory though. Guess I'll have to raise the front a bit to keep the front suspension properly aligned. All in all I very happy with the purchase, price, quality, fit and function. JC Whitney has always come through for me. Keep up the good work, JCW!"

Ford Ranger, November 27, 2008
By 98fordranger from High Desert ,California

Pros: Fit to OEM specs and comes ready to install.
Cons: Taking off old springs and new bolts do not come with purchase.

"These were a great purchase. The stock springs on my Ford Ranger broke so I needed to replace the entire spring. I found lots of add-a-leaf kits but not entire leaf springs to replace the old units. I considered using springs from a junkyard but the only junkyards around were pick a parts so I would have to remove them myself plus I would need my trucks EDI number so I could match the springs. I called Ford, they were able to match the springs by the vehicle ID #, but they wanted as much for one spring as a pair of these alloy steal springs. When they arrived, in one week, I was extremely happy with the quality and these springs had four leaves while the stock units have three. They fit right on, ride quality has never been better, and there is little to no warp. The only draw back is I had to cut off two of the old bolts, and the remainder were so rusty I chose not to use them. I wish these springs came with replacement bolts. Over all a great purchase."

Very Good Leafsprings, August 8, 2008
By ColonelDan from Dayton, OH
Ease of Use/Installation: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5
Features: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5
Quality/Construction: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: High quality leafsprings that are made to OEM specs.
Cons: I bought a pair of these springs and the bushing sleeve ID's were not identical. Had to use two different bolt sizes.

"I bought a pair of these springs to fit an '91 F150 pickup with 4WD. The length of the springs was identical to the original equipment, so replacement was a snap, once the old springs were off. The only complaint I have (and it is minor) is that one of the spring accepted 5/8" bolts in the ends, and the other accepted 9/16" bolts."

Quality/Construction: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Pros: High quality springs
Cons: reuse of exhisting shackle hardware

"Great springs! Includes front bushings and installs pretty easy. It took me about 3 to 4 hours to change them both. The only problem was getting the shackle sleves on the rear bolts off. I had to heat them cherry red to get them off so I could reuse them. That's how it goes with a 15 year old truck with 200,000 miles. Wouldn't suggest going to buy springs anywhere else. shipped fast and I am very pleased. Great job!"

Pros: Perfect fit
Cons: Rusty old bolts to remove - nothing new

"The product itself fit very well and the truck sits as good as new! The difficult part was removing old bolts which is nothing new for a 20 year old vehicle. I've owned this truck since it was new and it is great to see it sitting with some attitude again thanks to the replacement leaf springs. Only thing missing was the new bushings for the rear part of the assembly. Seems to state new bushings are included but it turns out only for the front part of the springs. Not happy with that but product fits perfect and lifts truck to like new status."

Pros: Easy Oem Replacement, No Lift So No Extra Special Parts
Cons: I don't like the shipping stickers that JC puts on the spring itself. Takes a bit to peal, fingernail off

"<1986 Dodge Ramcharger D150 4x4 w/318 2 brl Calif @ 95,000m. Np208 Transfere, Auto Trans, 12 bolt rear.
Have not put these springs on, but they look like they will do fine. Definitly have more of an arch in the spring than my original ones. For this truck, it is going to take some time to cut things off. All shackle bolts and front eye bolts have rusted solid to the inner metal tube in the bushings. These areas recieve a lot of weathering over the years of use. I plan on using some tough grease to lube the bolts for the new bushings. Plus undercoating these bushing areas with a rubberized coating. Perhaps this will protect these bolts from weathering and rusting. Looking into using brake fluid for PM on suspension bushings, perhaps this will help too. The 2 bottom leaves on my old leaf springs will be going on these new ones from JC. It will give me a bit more lift and spring, without getting crazy and having to buy special lift shocks, etc.
These springs will help re-awaken...The Beast!(-lightening-) from its original glory.

Pros: Very cost conscience at sale price, ease of installation, improves handling

"I tried to install them myself, but because of age of bolts, I couldn't break all of them loose so I took it to a shop who installed them very easily and was not expensive. The ride is very good and took away a lot of the rear end sway I had. It gives me the capability to now tow my boat which I could not do before. Excellent product!"

"Great product and was faster then expected. My mechanic had no trouble mounting them and bushings included....awesome, half the headache....price...unbeatable.They was mounted on a 1985 chevy g20 3/4 ton van and rides great now. Bolts would be helpful however each vehicle is diffrent and therefore must get hardware seperatly."

"I recently installed two sets of heavy-duty leaf springs on my 1995 Ford f-250 4wd deisel pickup. Both front and rear sets arrived in under a week and had the spring eye bushings already installed.Installation was easy and I like the stance of my truck when I got done.Buying these springs through jc-whitney saved me $900.00 over having my origanal broken springs repaired(not replaced).Overall a great experiance, quick service quality parts and saving a ton of money pretty much sum it up!I recommend jc-whitney to everyone!"
