"Ordered this shock for a 1997 Ford Explorer(SUV).
Front(ZX815548N)as shown for this vehicle. Shock does not fit. Explorer is 4 WD and the front CV/axle joint is in the way of the lower mount. The shock does not look like the OEM."

"These shocks were easy to install and are very confident on and off road. I put them on a 1998 Ford Explorer and took it off-roading the night I finished putting them on and I was really impressed how they handelled a trail."

"I installed these on my 1993 F150 and my 1993 Bronco. That is a total of 10 shocks. They were the right shocks and fit just like you would want them to. I instantly noticed a better ride and better control of the trucks.

Cons: stiffness tends to get annoying on bumpy roads

"i got the 2-3 inch lift and ive been off roading and used many other kits but so far these have been the best installation is real easy as long as you know the basics i love being able to crawl over anything and not have to worry about hitting my truck on something because of loose suspension"

"I put these on my '90 toyota pickup. Installation was easy. Didn't come with instructions but if you don't know how to put on shocks, you shouldn't be under a vehicle in the first place - lol! Noticed improvement in ride immediately. They handle all my on-road and off-road needs with ease. Will see how the hold up over the next few years."

"I have a 2002 dodge dakota and I have recently purchased these great shock to replace my old ones. I had monroe sensatrac on I hated them, to rough and squirly over train tracks felt like rear end was going to get loose. I put these shocks on and BAM what a difference! They offer more control firmness. They are definetly worth the price, I recommend them. Although installing them on your truck is kind of tricky, they engineered the mounts on the truck in a bad spot . It takes time a patiance."

Pros: Stiffer ride than stock shocks
Cons: They have a squeak until they are broke in for some reason. They did not come with instructions for the install.

"I installed these on the front and back of my 2003 Silverado 4X4. The install was a little tricky on the front. They started squeaking, but eventually stopped. The ride is great. I would definitely buy them again."

Cons: the part no# is listed for two completly different trucks and applications?

"Overall Im very pleased how the shocks ride on my 03 Ford F-250 4x4 diesel,definetly firmed it up over stock. No more boat ride! The only issue I had was the part no# fits two completly different trucks and applications and was the only set of no#s that was the same, caused me to question if I got the right ones?"

Cons: a little soft riding for a suburban

"Not a bad shock. Would like it a little stiffer for the larger vehicles...i.e. '96 GMC 4x4 Suburban...they didn't fit the rear shackles so I had to send two back. Return was great with no hassles and fairly quick credit back. Definately a good front shock...don't know how it rides on the rear."

"I finally got around to shopping for shocks for my '99 Wrangler. After hitting several auto parts stores, I found these shocks on JCW and they appeared to be of better quality. The shocks included all necessary hardware and installation was straightforward. They definitely offer a firmer ride (though I was used to a ride with worn shocks), but my TJ body doesn't roll sideways anymore and the Jeep feels stable, even on the highway in gusty winds or if I'm driving over rough roads. I'm pleased with the purchase."

"In the last 3 years I have installed six sets of the Rough Country Nitro shocks on family, friends and my own trucks. Everyone is happier with their performance, in comparison with the Rancho,
Monroe and original shocks that they replaced. We have had no problems including the Cherokee, Bronco and Chev Z71 that are taken offroad regularly. I'll put them on my next truck for sure!"

"This is a product I was introduced to in the mid '80's. It was on a little S-10 Blazer 4X4 and they worked wonderfully. Now I have a full size K-5 that I'm restoring and upgrading, guess what kind of shock will be on it. I also had the good luck to put these on another S-10 Blazer and my wife was amazed at the smooth ride and stability on the road as well as the off road control. This is a must have if you have a 4 wheel drive."
