Not a bad deal., October 28, 2009
By Anonymous

Pros: Easy to install. Good bang for the buck.
Cons: The top spring seat that connects the spring to the shock is made of plastic. Might break down the road.

"I installed these on my 88' Toyota 4x4. The rear leaf springs were sagging. These overload shocks helped lift it back up a bit. I think it's still sagging a little, but much less noticeable. These shocks did noticeably stiffen up the ride.

Installation was easy. Just jacked up the frame on each side to unload the leaf springs and bolted them on. They fit right on there, no need to compress them.

The mounting bushings were a little smaller than the mounting brackets, but nothing a little WD-40 and a hammer couldn't overcome.

Did theTrick!, August 12, 2009
By Celt from Kingston, TN.

Pros: Installation was easy, they work as advertised.
Cons: Do not come pre-compressed.

"Replaced the rear shocks on my '92 Toyota 2WD pickup. Original leaf springs had sagged - rear end was noticeably low. Considered other products but these seemed to be the easiest to install. Installation was easy and they fit perfectly. Ride height (and handling) have improved considerably. Note: If you are inventive and find a way to compress these shocks part way before installation, things will go much easier. I used the "tractor drawbar and box elder tree method" - then used some utility wire to keep the shocks compressed about half way until they were in place. It would be nice if the manufacturer would ship them partly compressed (with retainer clips on the springs.) Other than that, I can find no fault."

Awesome Product, January 22, 2009
By rboone from Orlando, FL

"I have a 97 ranger and the installation was easy just jack the rear end up till the bottom bolt alligns up with the bottom of the shock. Shock raises the back of the truck up a couple of inches but i am not complaining."

BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!!!, November 12, 2008
By Hugie67K20 from BRIDGEWATER N.J.

Pros: SHOCKS WORK GREAT!!! SMOOTHS OUT RIDE, SLIGHT LIFT AND WORKS GREAT WHEN PLOW IS ATTACHED.
Cons: I WOULD ADVISE INSTALLER TO USE NEW GRADE 8 BOLTS AND PAINT THE COIL SPRING WITH A GOOD RUSTPROOF PAINT. SPRING RUSTS

"USED THIS STYLE SHOCK ON BIG CARS AND TRUCK. RIDE IS SMOOTH AND SOFT. IT IS NOT HARD AT ALL WITH ABOUT A 1 INCH RAISE IN HEIGHT! I'M GLAD TO SEE OVER THE 20 YEARS I HAVE BEEN USING THESE SHOCKS QUALITY HAS NOT CHANGED AT ALL!!!"

Pros: price and performance
Cons: hard to compress to install.

"I installed mine on my 93, F-150 supercab.
Other than the fact that they do not come precompressed like alot of shocks do and on top of that you have the red coil over springs to add to the difficulty of compressing by hand. These Shocks are great! once i got them in and took them on road I noticed a much inproved handling and lack of brake dive. No more weel hop on take offs, and off road they performed like a dream. They raised my truck up and inch in the rear from the old shocks that were well beyond there years of use. I might "not" have to use blocks now when i lift the front! whoo hoo!

"If you need to improve your handling, or raise your ride height ( an inch in most cases ) or if you tow , these shocks are it. These shocks replaced another set of overload shocks I bought and installed in the front of my car from J.C. years ago. I have Overload shocks in both front and rear on my full size 84 Park Ave. I have 4 on my 78 Camaro and 4 on my Buick Roadmaster. A floor jack , safety stand and common hand tools are needed. You'll get a nice firm ride too. great price. I bought 2 oil filters to put me into the free shipping."
