Floorboard,
January 17, 2009
By Varmintfrom Mountains of NE Georgia
Pros: Well made Cons: Does not fit Vulcans
"The floorboard comes up in JC WHitney as a fit for the 2008 Vulcan 900LT, but it absolutely is not. Yes, I installed them, after a trip to the auto parts store for longer bolts, and after tapping out the holes in the floorboards to accept the bolts. Then, the mounting holes in the floorboard brackets do not line up with the mounting holes on the frame. Had to do some serious modifications there. If you are willing to do the work, they are nice. Beats paying $250.00 for all of the others I've seen."

Pros: Made well, nice size. Cons: Would not fit.
"I bought 2 sets of these as they are a great price. One set for my Ridley Auto-Glide and one for my husband's HD. The would not fit either one!! So we tried to give a set to a friend that owns a Goldwing. Wouldn't fit that either!! Product is made well, just won't fit."

Pros: ease in installation; truely universal Cons: doesn't whistle Dixie!
"Easiest accessory I have ever installed. They look good and are versatile. Feel good on the open road, nice leg position and look good. Really a deal, at this price. I've been doing business with Whitney since I was a kid (40+ years) and have not gotten a bad deal yet. Don't balk on these because of the price, they are WELL worth it. I don't buy all my accessories from Whitney, but when it comes to the hard to find or hard to fit.....they have it. THANKS!"

Pros: They turned out to be better than I expected. i have got a lot of complments on them Cons: None
"i was glad that I bought them.I had made a pair of highway bars for my 920 Yamaha and they went on with no problem and look great. I have a hip and lower back problem and I can now rider longer as I can rest my foot on the floorboard instead of the peg. Also becauce it is mounted on the highway bar my leg is strected outand not straight down on the peg."

Pros: Looks great, works great, as advertised. Cons: Slight modification required
"I had to remove half the thickness of the back clamp so it would fit between my engine guard and engine on my 1991 Goldwing 1500 Interstate. Not a big deal if you have a good hack saw or chop saw or grinder. I used my chop saw and in less then an hour I was riding again. There was still plenty of metal left to make a good sound clamp to engine guard. I love the look and feel of this product. Its a great buy for the money. Polished Aluminum, NOT chrome, but still looks good."

Pros: looks good on another bike Cons: didn't fit the goldwing, but sold them to someone else
"If the manufacturer had cut the back strap in half , it would have fit just right. No room between engine guard and valve covers."

Pros: Very comfortable. Affordable Cons: installation and looks.
"These boards are comfortable and large enough for the the feet and legs to be relaxed. Beefy construction. The finish is exactley as the add says, polished aluminum, they are not chrome sparkling bright and shiny. The installation is a little tricky with bolts inside the bracket. All highway pegs and boards are tricky to install by yourself. But these are very comfortable and do serve there purpose very well."

Pros: looks good, very confortable Cons: back clamp too thick
"these footboards add a lot of comfort for longer rides, the only problem I had was finding a location on my crash bars for maximum comfort, on the 1986 gold wing the crash bars are pretty close to the side of the engine there wasn't enough room to put them where I wanted them. it was either stretch way out there or very close, by the existing pegs. if the manufacturing company would reduce the back clamp by half, I think it would be perfect."

"I was surprised at how big they really are. They have a large amount of surface area for your feet, which allows you to move your feet a bit, on those long trips. They are made with a very heavy metal construction, they are not cheap, or chincy! They are made to fit 1" tubes -- check the diameter of your crashbar/engine guard bar before you order...
They were easy to bolt onto my 1979 Honda CB750K's engine guard tube. Once bolted on, and adjusted to the correct angle for my feet, they are rock solid, function well, and they look great! I tried to win a pair of used floor boards off an online auction site, but they would have cost the same as these new floorboards -- used parts off the online auction, was a waste of time, in this instance. ;-)
I would recommend these to anyone who wants a solid pair of floorboards for their bike. Just be sure to check the tube size, and order accordingly. Cheers!"

"Looked good but were too small to bolt on to my 1999 Valkyrie Interstate's crashbars. Fixed the problem by reaming off 1/8 inch from floorboard connectors with my dremel. Took a while but got the job done."

"I ordered it for my 1985 Gold Wing 1200 and the installation was easy. Angling the floorboards was a breeze (use the appropriate allen wrench). They fold up out of the way when necessary and when asked, yes, I tell people that I got em here! Great for those long rides and they look good. I've used them for a month and am glad that I bought them."
