Looks great!!!!, September 4, 2008

Pros: Custom molded to floor contours, sturdy construction
Cons: Oversized, much trimming required.

"I installed this product in a 1994 Chevy K2500 with floor shift. All of the molds were exactly sized and shaped for my floor pan. After lining all of the molded areas up correctly, I had to trim 2 to 3 inches on each side and the rear of the mat for proper fit. All in all, a fairly straight forward and easy install. The finished look is great. I am very pleased with the end result."

Pros: heavy duty vinyl
Cons: not custom molded

"This mat is listed as "custom fit" for your vehicle. About the only thing custom was the width. You basically get a rectangle of vinyl. The only customizing is done by you with a utility knife. The fit still has wrinkles from around the curves in the floor pan and transmission. I am going back out and use contact cement to hold it flat to the floor pan. Don't believe the pictures that show it molded to every curve of your vehicle. The vinyl is pretty thick, any thicker and you would not have a chance of fitting it to your floor pan."

Floor Matting and Pads, August 2, 2006

"I ordered matting for a 1999 Ford Ranger. This was perfect for a truck. The 40 oz padding beneath the matting covers only from the front of the seats up the firewall like the original padding. It is good thick padding and almost silenced the manual transmission noise. To do a complete job of the SuperCab I ordered the 6' x 3' 40 oz padding to place under the seats to the back cab wall. Place the padding for the front against the wall of the footwell in front of the seats and make any cuts for the gear shift from the front center of the matting at the firewall. If you order matting for the rear of the cab start working at the cab rear and move forward and cut to width with scissors. The 3 ft width will go under the seats.

The rubber mat fit, but was way oversized on the width; length was just about right. There was some bulging under the seats and around the gear shift box. When you lay it out in the cab start at the rear, scooting enough under the back wall facing so the wall facing, when screwed back down, grabs the matting securely. The length of the matting will go up the firewall far enough to cover the front padding already installed.

Overall, installation was easy; but to make the front padding fit around the gear shift I had to cut the padding from the front to the gear shift to make it fit. The recommendation to cut only a small hole in this instance was difficult because of the shape of the padding and going across the tranny hump. Cutting in this manner allowed a perfect fit around the gear shift and a strip of duct tape closed the cut from the gear shift to the firewall.

On cutting the width of the mat down: You should be sure to allow more width than it appears you need. You might even put the rocker panel covers back on then cut any overhang. If you have a SuperCab be sure to leave enough to go completely under any wall facing it must go under. I would recommend this padding for any truck application (cars, too, really. I like the easy cleanup from spills and general road grime that the mat offers compared to carpet. Matting lasts much longer, and looks nicer longer than any grade carpet.

Vinyl Floor Matt -Tough Enough, June 30, 2006
By ILBChef from Portland, Oregon

"I purchased one of these vinyl floor matts for a 1975 Dodge Power WagonClub Cab P.U. that was given to me by my father who had it since brand new. I was doing a restoration after it had sat in the same spot for 5 years. The floor was rusted and the original matt was about as bad as it can get. So when it came time to replace the matt after the floor was fixed, I researched all the floor matt options on the market. Then Descided that this one from J.C.Whitney was the best choice in over all value and quality. After I recieved the floor matt, I was impressed with the heavy duty quality of the vinyl as well as the thickness of the under padding matt that came with it. Installing it was easy if you are handy with a utility knife and can remove the seats from your vehicle. The texture it has is great for non slippage and looks great after instalation is finished. This product made my vehicle look brand new inside."
