Pros: Conquers snow, slush, sand and mud, cleans easy, fits the floor perfectly, stays put, cleans shoes
Cons: Put them through Hades and have not found a problem yet.
"We were tired of constant dirt, grime, soaked floorboards from shoes and boots getting in and out of the vehicles. We are in Upstate New York, remember several record 20-ft snowstorms last winter (2007) on national TV? That's us. The mud and grime are also everywhere when the snow isn't here.
Before these floor mats, shoes and packages we put on the vehicle's floor were soaked and stained from all the snow melt and salt and mud, and it never quit. We tried lots of mats before these, we found they all hid the mud and salt until we put shoes or packages down, the old mats slipped around, didn't fit, never dried, curled, fought back and spread mud and snow. Then we said "OK, we're tired. We'll try these rugged monster mats and we'll get our money back if they aren't all they say."
We put three sets of these heavy custom mats in our 2 work trucks and a Honda civic, have gone through a muddy summer and 1/2 of a Upstate New York winter so far this year, from farm areas to salty parking lots, and never saw anything so well built and effective in all my life, except maybe a US Marine.
The mats are solid performers, it's just like they say. The mats keep packages dry even if the mats have trapped water and gravel in the ridges, they let you scraps mud off your shoes without marking your shoes, the mats dry between uses, you can shake them out to clean; just pull them from the car, flex them and the dirt pops off, or if you want them to shine, just hose them off, or rub them in the snow upside down to get them to reflect light. When you throw them back into the car, they drop right into place, never any curling corners to fuss with nor wrestling them into place, even for the trucks.
The mats stay flexible and tough in below freezing weather, and they also work very well as traction mats when you get stuck in snow or mud, (for the Honda). I am not strong enough yet to throw the Civic out of a mudhole.
My only wish is to put a little more ridging on the back of the mats to grab snow and tires better, so when I need traction mats for being stuck in the mud or snow, I don't have to use two mats back to back for traction getting out of the mudhole, and can do it with just one mat. My husband says I should just quit driving the Honda and use only the truck.
I like my Civic, but I travel more in the trucks now because no matter how bad the mud or snow is, the mats trap the snow and mud from work boots, and my shoes still stay nice. My snowy shoes also dry off during my drive, without picking up mud or salt stains from the mats, so I can go to the office without looking like I just came in from the farm.
Like the mats? - you bet. That mat material is wonderful, and the ridge design is perfect. I want to buy stock in the company. Those genuises should make front door welcome mats, and boat mats, shower mats and double sided ridges for traction mats also. Sign me up."
