Interferes with tumble seat, but lots of storage, November 13, 2008
By sharkdiver from Florida

Pros: Large storage capacity
Cons: Too long, interferes with tumble seat. In my mind, a little pricey to have such a major drawback

"I bought this console for my 94 YJ with one thing in mind...storage capacity. It seemed to offer more storage than other consoles, and I am very pleased with the amount of storage it has. The down side is that it's too long. I cannot fully tumble my rear seat now because the console extends too far into the back. Because of this, I decided not to permanently mount the console to the floor as instructed. This reduces the security aspect but allows me to slide the console back and forth so it doesn't interfere with gear shifting. It still wedges in between my seats pretty tightly so removing (stealing) it would take some effort, but its not impossible.

Color matches pretty well. I've only had mine for a month so I haven't had any lock issues although, I did have to adjust the catch inside the front lid because is was easy to open when in the locked position.

Overall, I am pleased due to the storage capacity, but for the price, it shouldn't interfere with the rear seat. Still, I can live with it."

Pros: Looks good, lots of storage
Cons: Long, cheap looking locks

"Purchased for a '93 YJ. The installation instructions required a little modification to actually work. The box is a little large and extends into the rear seating area, so if you have large passengers, it may not be for you. The upholstery blends well with the interior and the box appears solid, but the locks seem a little cheap to hold up to anyone who really wants in."

Pros: Way more useful then OEM
Cons: Had to put it in backwards to make it work.

"I put this in my CJ7 backwards because if I put it in as the instruction wanted I wouldn't be able to use the best feature of my jeep because it couldn't shift into 4X4. The locking storage areas are nice, but the cup holders are not deep enough to hold drinks. Also the mounting hardware is alot like the instuctions, useless."

Pros: Great storage space- large;Looks great;
Cons: No instructions - called mfg. after getting number from JCW;Cup holders are too shallow;tight fit

"I purchased this console for a 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ. It took some work to get the installation instructions. Installation would be much easier with some assistance. I do not like the cup holders - - spring-loaded clips on front are weak and the rear holders are too shallow. Console is not insulated, so drinks do not stay cold."

"Purchased for a 1994 Chevy Caprice 9c1Pros:The console is pretty sharp looking. The adjustable, spring release cup holders are sturdy and have held up a large water bottle, soda cans, different size and shape coffee cups without problem. "Purchased for a 1994 Wrangler YJ
Pros:
The console is pretty sharp looking. The adjustable, spring release cup holders are sturdy and have held up a large water bottle, soda cans, different size and shape coffee cups without problem. I like the little organizer features in the compartments as well. Very nice touch.

Cons:
The console comes with absolutely no installation instructions. I had to go the manufacturer website and download a PDF document that contained instructions for a console that is SIMILAR to this one because this model number's instructions were not available on their site. BIG NEGATIVE for the manufacturer.

This console should not be considered a 'custom fit' for my Wrangler. It really has to squeeze between the seats making the lift action on the seats to allow people into the back seat a big chore - ESPECIALLY if you have seat covers on your seats.

Also, it is about 5" too long. You have to balance keeping it out of the way of your gear shift and your fold and tumble rear seat. You end up sacrificing quite a bit of leg room - which is precious in your rear seat.

The center bolt of the hinge is held in place by two threaded ends and I was able to remove both locking doors of the console by simply unscrewing the ends with my fingers - no tools and not really much effort. So you'll want to remove those (one at a time) and put some super strong silicone or some such adheasive on the end pieces so that you can actually lock things securely inside."

"No instructions. I guess I have to figure this one out. Appearance is fine but it is made mostly of wood. It will be an issue if you leave your top down. I have no idea where the mounting holes are or how to mount it."
