Pros: Perfect color match, excellent fix, fairly easy install

"Put one of these in a 1991 Chevrolet Suburban. The fit was perfect and need no trim or modification. I did buy an additional tube of RTV silicon to make sure I had enough and did use them both. Better to have a little extra than to have not enough after you have started. The dash looks new and nobody would guess it is a dash cap unless I tell them. Very nice, highly recommend this product!"

Pros: Good looking product.

"Bought the set of upper and lower dash caps for my 1970 Volvo P1800. I had the dashboards out and disassembled to fit the caps. Took quite a bit of careful trimming to fit the caps around the instrument panel, would be very difficult to do without taking the instruments and the aluminum panel trim out. I also had to cut down the aluminum instrument and switch panel trim a bit to fit inside the dash cap. End result looks good, probably a lot better than you could achieve by just putting the caps on without taking the dash apart."

"Purchased for a 1988 Bronco II with a cracked dash that looked awful. Trial fitted it and did not have to do much to install, just followed the easy instructions. We are very happy with the results and how quick and easy it was to install."

"I came looking for a product like this dashcap at JC Whitney because I was unable to find a "new" replacement dashboard elsewhere. I just finished installing the dashboard cap into my 1983 Toyota pickup. It really is a very simple installation, although a little prepwork on your existing dash is recommended. The instructions are very clear, but I would advise removing your dashboard from your vehicle for the installation, as it is much easier to get everything the way you want it. To assist in the gluing, I used 20+ squeeze clamps to hold the dash cap in position for the gluing. The material is also quite durable, even though it looks thin. I would definitely recommend this for anybody wanting to improve the look of their interior."

"I installed an Accu Form dash cap on my 1981 GMC pick up. I took the dash out of the truck and placed the cap over it first to see how it fit.
It didn't fit well at all because how damaged the original was, so I read the directions that came with it.
The first thing I did was cut the dash where I was having problems with a good fit. It didn't matter how bad the dash was deformed because the cover would hide it. After a few days of playing around with it I finally got a GREAT fit.
I the used clamps with wood flooring pieces I had around the garage to make sure I had a good tight seal all the way around.
It turned out fantastic !!!! and it's hard to tell that it's a cap.
I highly recommend this cover, but remember take your time and don't be afraid to cut up your old pad far enough to get a good fit.
What I mean by this is the cap should lay down on your old dash pad without forcing it into place. Cut up and remove the padding in the dash that's giving you problems.
It's easy and you can do it, just take your time.

"My 1976 Mercedes 450SL dash had lots of cracks and really looked bad. When I recieved the dash cap, I just slipped it in place to see how it would look. It looks so good that I haven't even taken it out to apply the glue for a permanent installation."

"My 1986 Toyota Pick up is going strong at 300,000 miles but the dash showed every mile. The new dash cap was just the ticket. After all, where would you find a new dash at a fair price? Anyway, the cap fit very nicely. I first removed any loose pieces of the old dash or any raised edges caused by the huge cracks that the original dash had developed. Next the old dash was sanded around its perimeter so the silicone would grab. The new cap got sanded in the same fashion on the bottom side. They both were cleaned with rubbing alcohol & glued in place with the silicone provided. I held the cap in place with masking tape & 4 rolls of toilet paper wedged against the wind shield. It dried over night & presto!! A new dash!!

My only complaint is that the cut outs around the three vents could have been done neater. They look like they were done freehand with a Dremel. But once the cap is glued in, It's not so noticeable. Another pickey point is that I wish the left end had been made 1/16" longer so the cap would slip under the intrument panel thus hiding the end of the cap. Mine fit under on the front edge & half way toward the windshield. Then there is a slight (.025" more or less) gap. I think it is a great product & I'm happy to be able to get one to fit my truck. I hope my comments will get back to the makers so they can refine it a little. Thanks!!"
