Not A Custom Fit!, June 17, 2009

"1991 Chevrolet Suburban. The picture on the web page shows the weather stripping that was the origional equipment on the vehicle. What you get is two flat pieces of molding, one for the inner and one for the outer. The door on the Suburban is curved, hence the picure of the molding on the web site.I will give you what I have figured out in the event you are brave enough to tackle this. The door needs to be disassembled. The the clips on the outer stripping cannot be reused, they break. The replacement weather stripping has tabs that will fit over the door flange. The replacement weather stripping must be cut to as close to the shape of the door you can get using a hacksaw and a razor blade. Stretch the replacement stripping useing the hande of a pliers and it will go on the door easier. After you have the replacement strip formed rough up the door surface and the inside and the tabs of the replacement stipping and use RTV silicon to adhere the stripping to the door. For the inner stripping you will need to get the five clips out of the old weather stripping. Not an easy task. Use a cable cutter to trim arround the clip. Put a screw driver between the clip and the old weather stripping and bend the old weather stripping up to the point you can cut the remaining piece in the center with the cable cutters then work the clip loose. There are five clips. This will take some time. When complete bend the clip points back out again so they are strait. The the replacement weather stipping and form it to the door as best you can. Next hold the new weather stipping up to the door and mark it with a permanent marker where the weld spots are on the top of the door pannel. Next mark a line with an awl 3/8 inch up from the bottom of the replacement weather stipping on the rubber side. Place the middle of the clip centered with the line you drew with the permanent marker in the previous step. Drag the clip strait down so the points will make an intersecting line with the line you created with the awl. Drill two 1/8 inch holes at the intersect point. Put the clip in and force it through the holes with a needle nosed pliers. Bend the clip point over with the pliers to fasten the clip in the weather stripping. When all of the clips are on, install the weather stripping on the interior door pannel you took off. Should pop right on. Install the interior pannel into the door and reassemble. Hope this helps. It is a very time consuming task to install these things. Good Luck."

"Great price! Alot less expensive than OEM! Even though no instructions came with them, they are not that difficult to install. Just have some patience on hand! The clips on these didnt quite line up with the mounting holes on the door, but didnt pose much problem. A tip though..your window will be VERY hard to roll up and down after installing these, so take a day and spray soapy water on both sides of the window and crank it up and down quite a bit. It will loosen up and become easier the more you use it."

"I ordered the weather stripping kit for a 1992 Ford F-150 PU.

Your product description states"FRONT DOOR BELT WEATHERSTRIP KIT
Complete 4-piece kit seals driver-side and passenger-side front doors" plus states that kit includes instructions.

Per the title of the product it is only a 2-piece set (misleading) no instructions were received (misleading) in the package and it took 15 days to receive the item."

quality was like,2 i was ordering other stuff anyway and 3 it was Free
fedex shipping. My window rubbers were so bad,they made the whole doors
