Good Product, March 28, 2009
By TheGrizz from Grizzly Flats, CA

Pros: Flares look like OE. All lines matched up to body of truck. Price wasn't bad for what you get.
Cons: Weatherstripping a little difficult to install. Got the hang of it after the first one

"Clips were loose in the holes on the rear flares. I put a screw in each one and spread out the prongs, then they stay in the holes better. Use a new screw in each clip or else you will wear out the screw and you have no extras. It took a littel extra time, but it was worth it. I also painted some washers black and installed them under the screw head. Covers up the white clips.
When installing the weatherstripping on the first flare I was in the garage. The flare scraped on the cement and scratched it slightly. I found a good use for the huge box and put it on the floor when installing the stripping on the rest.
I really like the look of the flares on my 2000 Silverado 4WD. With 265-75 tires they don't look too small. May go for a wheel package in the future.

Pros: Substantial; looks like it came from the factory with flares.
Cons: None

"Thought I would paint to match the truck; but, the flares look so good black, I did not paint them. Great product; a little pricey, but worth the money."

"These fender flares for my 1994 F150 are AWESOME!! I was looking for fender flares that didn't stick out 4+ inches from the fenders. The JC OEM style flare set only sticks out a few inches. My tires are only 235/75/15 & it looks great. I didn't have to install big truck tires, very happy about that.

The clips supplied worked good. I didn't have an issue using them, but the rubber weather strip that you have to install was another story. Was tricky to put on the fender flares, but also was tricky when installing the flare to the vehicle. As you go to install the flare, the weather strip wants to curl back underneath the flare. You will need a lot of patients here!

The overall quality was better than i expected! Mine were made in Australia & are extremely durable. You can 'man handle' these without worry about cracking/splitting of the molded plastic. My truck is black, so i didn't need to paint. The flares are almost black(charcoal grey). I would definitely recommend the OEM style flares to anyone!!

Pros: I put them on a white 2002 Chevy Silverado and they really add to the appearance, without having to paint them.
Cons: They are not easy to install.

"My brother suggested I put some on my truck to dress it up after I talked about the high price to change colors from white to brunt rust. I looked on your web page and to my surprise they were very reasonable. I now have more money to add other features. As for installing them the light color clips wll not stay in the holes,so after reading someone else review I tried it to no avail. Once you place the rubber on the end f the flares, you need an extra pair of hands to push in on them in order to screw them on. If you leave off the rubber, then you can do it by yourself if you can get the clips to stay in place. Overall I`m comepletely satisfied."

Pros: Great item
Cons: none

"The shipping was real fast, the finder flares look great. The fit was on the money match to the lines of my truck. What a different look it gave to my truck. Opening the wheel well for a clean (sweet) look. Come unpainted, and that’s just how I put them on, and it looks great. The clips sent to fasten them to the wheel well just throw the in the can. I used self tapping screws. Very hard to work with! This is it, just as I see it. You will not be disappointed with these flares."

Pros: Great Looks
Cons: Poor Instructions

"The fender flares look great on my 2002 Ford F250 SD. However the instructions were not very clear on installing the tape or the clips. In fact after reading other reviews about the problems with the clips I didn't use them. I used pan head sheetmetal screws instead. Installation was then very easy."

"I own a Chevy Silverado, I ordered the flares thinking that the would be easy to install. The protective strip was tricky around the sharp edges, and the clips kept falling out. These are the best price for the flares I have seen. I have shopped around for a couple of months. Even though the price was low , I think they should do something with the clips. Make them a little bigger or use a trim plug. They do look nice even without paint."

"The rubber flange gasket is difficult to put on, especially around the sharp bends of the flares. There is a secret to keeping the plastic clips from falling out of the fender well holes. I screwed the screws into the clips the night before installation holding by the clips with a pair of pliers while screwing the screws into the clips. Then I left them inside the house overnight to set. This spreads the clip legs open and stops them from falling out of the fender well holes . This technique also pre taps the plastic clips so screwing the screws in during the actual installation goes much easier. The Flares look great w/o painting them and match the body contour perfect"

"The instructions could of been more detailed. The rubber strip was a pain to get the hang of. I'm a very mechanically inclined person but found installation harder than one would think being it was just 6 holes to put 6 clips in the front and 8 in the back. I wished the clips were a little fatter because they kept falling out when I tried to push up the flares onto my 2004 Chev Silverado. That being said. A job I thought would be about an hour took 2. Make sure you don't loose any clips. They don't send any extra clips or screws. Also don't tighten the screws all the way until you have them all in then you can shift it around to snap into the rectangular holes. It does take alittle muscle to push up in place. After install though I was very happy with the look. These were the best deal I could find anywhere. I search the web for 2 weeks before ordering. Thanks JCW."

JCW's OEM Fender Flares, July 20, 2006

"These flares look great on my 2001 Z71 Silverado and I am very happy with them. The flares fit the contours of my truck so well, you can't tell they didn't come with it new.

I did a lot of internet shopping and JCW had the best price on OEM
flares, hands down.

The installation wasn't as easy as it sounded. The plastic
screws kept falling out and the rubber barrier pulled off the flare
when I was trying to align it to the fenders. I found that if you start
on one side and put one screw into each plastic screw anchor (one at a time), it worked much easier. Luckily, my father had purchased these
same flares from JCW for his truck several months earlier. Therefore,
installation on my truck went much faster.

JCW had these in stock, and they arrived at my house within a few days. I was very surprised that they arrived so soon, as the email
confirmation said it would be several weeks before they should even
ship.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend these to anyone looking for OEM flares.
