Saved My Truck!, June 25, 2009
By PapaTat

Pros: Super heavy duty, great looking

"A very large tree rolled down the hill next to my drive and hit my truck this morning. The brush guard caught the brunt of the impact and, though the guard is destroyed, my truck only had minimal damage to the front fender. Without the guard, my truck would likely been totalled! The tree had a a 2 1/2 foot base, over 35 feet tall. I WILL be replacing the guard!"

A life saver, June 8, 2009
By Anonymous Reviewer from Virgina Beach, VA

Pros: the size and strangh of the bar
Cons: none

"I bought one two years ago and on May 31, 2009 I was very gald I did. I hit a wall on the PA turnpike at 65 miles an hour. This bar took 85% of the crash inpact. It held up with very little damage. This is a produce that I will get for my new truck."

BEEFY GRILL GUARD, February 12, 2009
By OLEH from Harford, PA

Pros: The grille guard is to say the least, "beefy". Looks great on my F-150, and is very functional.
Cons: Not a one man install, heavy, no predrilled holes for my PIAA's.

"The grille guard is all I expected and then some. Looks sharp and massive on my F-150. I had to have it installed, because I didn't have enough hands, it's heavy. My biggest peave was that no provisions are made to mount lights. After a lot of detective work I found that the PIAA tubular mounts were around $40, and needed to get shims in addition. Finally I found that the manufacturer, would charge me an additional $17 for "light mounting tabs" which I still have not received. All in all a great product, but the lack of light mounting possibilities "teed" me off a bit."

Pros: price, delivery
Cons: grill guard bolts up with 2 piece brackets

"I ordered this Rancher guard based on description and price. I have had other grill guards like Ranch Hand, and Ruff Stock. This is a decent grill guard. The only thing I don't like about it is the way it bolts on... The other heavy duty grill guards I have owned have been one piece and bolt directly to the bumper bolts... This installation has a backplate that gets installed behind the bumper and bolts to the frame, and brackets that bolt to the front through the existing bolt holes... then you attach the grill guard to the brackets and tighten..I prefer a one piece installation. A guy could always weld the brackets up I guess... All in all a pretty nice and heavy duty guard... not alot to chose from for the 08 superdutys."

"I received the RANCHER grill guard for my "99" F250 SUPER DUTY
about four weeks after ordering. IT was worth the wait.
It was sooooo easy to install. All I did was put (2) two
ratchet straps over the beams in the car port, raised the
GRILL GUARD to the attachment points on the truck
followed the directions and wal-la 40 mins later my
truck has a whole new look. Only thing, if there were
a little better picture on the instructions to see which
side of the bracket to use . Thanks."

"Installed on 2004 Ford F250. Appearance and fit was very good. Installation was easy (three people is perfect, two can do it <route I went>, one probably could with the aid of a floor jack). Instructions did not indicate which direction to put the mounting brackets and measuring to determine this is difficult due to the shape of the truck. Would prefer two additional mounts to the top of the bumper (or higher), but have no doubt about the strength of the stock mounts."
