works pretty good, August 13, 2008
By tj90 from ca

Pros: $50 is cheap insurance to prevent accidents
Cons: white sensors

"Just installed mine. Works as described. Please note that the ZX269307 is not an LCD display. Its a VCD display like what is on ovens etc. It is very bright and can be seen in the daylight (but better if it is shaded). Better than factory cause it gives you distance and location. I positioned the left and right sensor slightly angled out so I get better protection to the sides. The 2 center sensors are 2 ft apart and the sensors detect a 2" pole down to 1.5 ft so good coverage.

I tried painting mine with touch-up paint and before the paint dried, it seemed that sensor was giving false notification. After all the work of installing, I chickened out and removed the paint with thinner. SO now they are white...

Rear Civic Si with Parking Sensor Installed

Pros: Affordable, Easy Install, Come with drill bit, Quality is great, Easy to Read Display, Muliple Points Detection
Cons: Have to paint to match your vehicle color

"I have it installed on my 06 Civic Si. Since I have a body shop, installation is very easy.

Construction of the unit is good. Very durable. Instruction is easy to follow. Not hard to install, depending on your skill. If you are a "Do-It-Yourself" kind of a guy...this should be fun project to add on to your car.

It came with four censers in white, monitor, speaker and a drill bit to help you install in the back bumper. You might have to repaint the censor to match up with your car's color.
This unit is not a wireless like some others you find on Ebay, but it is more realiable since they take up the power source from the battery when the back up light are turn on. You will have run the wire from the display unit to the back of the car. Just hide the wire under the trim panel.

When I installed, I put some silicon sealer around the censor inside the bumber. This step is not necessary, but I just do it to make sure it is firmly secure.

The Display in in VFD color which is bright and very easy to see. It got four censor -- left, right and two on the center. When the car back up, the unit will turn on automaticly with the animation and display distance within 5 feet. On top of that a guiding voice of a "kid-like" leting you know the distance and direct you to turn left or right to avoid the hit. I found the guiding voice to be very useful since we should never fix our eyes on the monitor alone when we back up. But if you found the voice to be anoying, you can turn the volume down or turn it off. Yes! they have the volume switch on the side of the display.

Over all, I think it is a good investment to add on the vehicle. It makes your car look more valuable. I have been service many factory install one...and I can tell you that it costs at least couple hundreds for just replacing one censor alone!
This is a good deal!!! Buy it if you like it.

I give it a 5 stars. Highly recommended!

Works OK, June 7, 2007
By Peta from California, CA

"I installed the unit. It worked during benchtest. After install, the LCD was defective and so was the control box. I exchanged it and it worked fine. I could only use 2 of the 4 sensors due to a metal bumper. Unit is a bit annoying when you unlock your vehicle or turn off vehicle. If your vehicle has the reverse lights that light up during this the unit goes off during that time. Otherwise, pleased with purchse. Unit does have a built in speaker which it does not state in the descprition. Nice added feature for the price."

Description says not on metal/chrome bumper, March 2, 2007
By imax

"Perhaps the first reviewer missed the description of the item states not to mount on metal/chrome bumper. That may explain why the hole saw didn't last (it was designed for plastic/vinyl not metal). The units response pattern is also affected by the metal bumper therefore the must have said: not for metal bumper!"
