Fell apart, November 15, 2009

Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Does not hold up,

"The Bak Flip was easy to install and lasted about a year before it fell apart. The rubber along the sides was the first to go. The next thing was the rubber that connects the front piece to the segments that fold up seperated. I took the cover off and fixed it (for awhile) I reinforced it with some industrial strenght Duct tape and it lasted about 8 more months. It finally broke loose on the highway. I picked it up and threw it out. I do not reccommend this product at all."

Sections Falling Apart, November 13, 2009

Pros: Easy Installation and gives full bed access and is secure
Cons: After 2 years the panels are falling out of the hinges

"Have really liked this cover since installing 2 years ago. Gives easy access to bed and locks with tail gate. But recently when I flipped it back the middle section fell out of the hinge - noy sure if it didn't get glued properly or what. Have tried to contact manufacture by email 3 times over the last month and they have never responded. I get an automated email response indicating someone will be getting back to me but they never do. I belong to a large RV camping group and have bragged about this cover for 2 years and now its ashame there customer service is blowing me off. Also, while it does keep most of the rain out the bed still gets a little wet and always has but thats no big deal. I offered to email them a picture of the seperated piece and also asked how I should fix, but they don't seem to care to respond."

DID NOT WORK WITH MY BEDLINER!, November 17, 2008

Pros: Would be an easy installation if it worked with the factory bedliner on my 04' Toyota Tacoma double cab.
Cons: DOES NOT WORK WITH MY FACTORY TOYOTA BEDLINER WITHOUT A LOT OF CUTTING.

"Once installed it's a really nice looking and functional cover.HOWEVER, with my 2004 Toyota Tacoma I had to cut off the top edge of my factory bedliner on both sides of the bed."

Pros: Easy to install

"I helped a friend install this on his Ford Super Duty. His primary motivation was to improve gas mileage. I can’t believe how easy it was to install. It took less than 30 minutes. Early results are showing a 10% increase in gas mileage. Not bad."

Pros: Easy to install and looks great.
Cons: No locking mechanism.

"This tonneau is a great value, looks great, and is a piece of cake to install. I have a 2006 Ford F150 with a 6.5' bed. Two small complaints: 1. Mine came without instructions but the company's web site has a video that covered it very well. 2. The instructions didn't mention that it is difficult to install over a plastic bed liner. I had to make several modifications to my bedliner to make it fit at the cab. Aside from that, the installation took about 30 minutes and that included cutting sections out of my bed liner. In the end, the cover looks GREAT and I would highly recommend!"

Pros: Everything is excellent!!!!
Cons: I thought the top locked, but my tailgate locks so it is still good. The inner system locks in place but no overall lock

"Nice product,VERY easy to install. Great directions and only took a matter of minutes! I have never assembled something so great in so little time. If you are looking for a cover, this is great quality and so simple to use and assemble.
Would have liked it to lock at the end but my tailgate locks so it will be secure since you have to unlock from the underside of the tonneau to make it fold up."

"Just finished the install of my new BakFlip on my Ford F150 Super Crew. This is the most amazing cover I have ever seen. The install was a joke it was so easy. Took me about 25 minutes.

The packaging was unbelievable. I can't believe they would go through so much trouble and expense to package a product so well. When I opened the box I could see why BAK Industries has such a good reputation for their quality. It truly is over the top and deserves a mention.

The cover is very sleek and strong and fits like a glove. I love how it opens and closes and how I don't waste any space in my bed.

What a cool product. I would buy this product again if I had the chance.

"This is the third type of cover I have owned and I can say for sure that it's the best. It installed easily and look incredible on My Toyota Tundra.

I was worried about it leaking, but I followed the install instructions properly and it is completely water tight.

The panels fold out of the way and it is much more versatile than the last 2 covers I owned.

I am very pleased with the cover and would buy one again in a heartbeat."

"I installed the BAK Folding Tonneau Cover on my 2006 short bed Dodge Ram. The cover arrived from the manufacturer in two boxes on separate days, which caused some concern when I opened the first box and found the rails missing and no manifest or inventory to tell me they were shipped separately. All parts arrived in good condition except for one rail which had some scratches in the finish that buffed out. The weather stripping on one side of the cover was installed crooked enough to be noticable but still functions. I'd repair it, but it won't last through a 50 below Fairbanks winter anyway.

Installation was straight forward, and the fit on my truck with a tailgate cap is very tight. The front of the cover is attached with bolts to flanges on the rails. The flanges must be drilled for the bolts and the instructions show you drilling through the predrilled mounting holes in the cover. The rail flanges flex enough that I was concerned with getting a clean hole this way, so I simply used the cover holes to mark flange hole location, removed the cover, and supported the flange with a scrap 2X4 while I center punched and drilled. Total installation time was about 1 1/2 hours.

Final appearance is great, and it has already proven to be extremely handy. Instant tarp! It's going to be really nice this winter to be able to use the bed without first shoveling out a foot of snow. I just made a 400 mile round trip hauling supplies to my cabin, and on the way back with the tonneau fully secured noted about a 2 MPG improvement in fuel milage compared to other trips. The BAK claim of a 11% improvement appears to be about right for long trips."
