Pros: Nice finish - delivered fast - no drilling
Cons: Was scuffed on corners due to shipping / didn't exactly line up
"I think that overall this is a high quality hitch. Made in USA! It has a nice finish and was delivered within 3 days of ordering. It came scuffed on the corners due to the box being partially broke when I recieved it. I recommend getting some help when you put it on, it is heavy. I used a floor jack to hold it up while I attached it by myself. Air tools will make it easier. One mounting hole did not exactly line up and I had to ream it out for the bolt to go through. There was no other way I could have attached it properly without reaming the hole. There is very little room to adjust once it is in place. Were the holes on the hitch or the truck out of place? I did not have to drill. One hour may be for those who do it all the time. It took me 2. You don't have to take the bumper off, just loosen it. It looks nice on my '09 Toyota Tacoma and probably would pull more than the truck is capable of. I am going to paint where it was scuffed. I couldn't find a better one for the money."

Definitely not "custom fit",
October 5, 2009
By Anonymous
from Lubbock, TX
|
Pros: Solid construction
Cons: Fit and installation
"The manufacturer's ad says "custom fit". Puh-lease... There's nothing custom about it unless they consider the 1/2" dents I was forced to pound into either side of the truck floor as "custom".
The mounting flanges are not wide enough. Period. They make hard contact with the body on either side of the depresserion that creates the trunk floor. The only reason the mouning holes lined up with the frame was because they were slotted so long. I didn't have time to call and scream so I took a hammer to the trunk floor and made it fit.
I've installed both Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite products on Crown Vic/Grand Marq's before. While neither is a perfect "custom fit", neither suffered such egregiously poor fitment as the Curt.
It's sad, too. The Curt hitch seems relatively well made and comes with decent-quality mounting hardware. Unfortunately the poor fitment vs competitor's products means I can't recommend it.

Couldn't ask for any better,

Pros: Perfect fit, easy and quick installation, High quality
Cons: None that I can see.
"What can I say? I read the installation instructions which said I may have to drill 2 holes. It turns out, it was a no-drilling installation as the holes on the hitch matched perfectly with the holes in my '96 Dodge Ram 1500's frame. The most difficult part was joining two socket extensions together so that my torque wrench would reach the passenger-side bolts without moving the tailpipe. Install took less than 15 minutes. I would definitely buy this product again for another vehicle."

Great Value, Looks Great,

Pros: Looks Great, Inexpensive, Relatively Easy Install
Cons: make sure you read the directions.
"FAST SHIPPING!!! It shipped with FedEx Ground from the warehouse to New Jersey in a day and a half. That is what i call fast!!!! All hardware was included and everything was in great condition. Packaging was shoddy, only a cardboard box, but it arrived unscathed.
If you are like me, you don't always read the directions carefully enough. Bad idea- On my Tacoma, i took the bumper and brackets off at the same time instead of bumper, then brackets. (time saver). All in all, the hitch is of great quality- the picture is of a different hitch- this model does not have the oval holes in the plate, it has welded loops. I have no preference. The 20 minute installation time must be for someone who has alot of experience with this- a 16 year old is not an expert- but still, i have a decent idea of what i'm doing. AIR TOOLS DEFINITELY HELP!!!!! Especially with those rusty nuts and bolts. It took me more like 50 minutes to an hour to finish up. Altogether great looking hitch, and great value from a reputable brand."

Excellent product, best customer service!,

Pros: Well made receiver, fast shipping to Canada.
Cons: None
"I am very impressed by the quality of this product. Price was right and with the bonus, even better.
Installation is simple and straightforward. I had to buy a torque wrench, in order to be able to remove the screws from the frame.
The customer service over the phone was friendly and helpful.
Very fast shipping and affordable to Canada, through FEDEX Ground. I hope there will be no additional fees. Canadians are used the UPS "brokerage" fees rip-off.
Thanks!"

Comments on Fit to 2007 Chrysler Pacifica,
June 26, 2009
By TKnutson
from Colorado Spriings, CO
|
Pros: All hardware is high quality and hitch matches mounts to frame
Cons: Prevents storing undermount spare tire
"Product is good quality and fits the Pacifica frame as advertised. I'm using it for fairly light duty - bike rack. As the instructions state, you have to remove the spare and lower the exhaust pipes to fit it into place. Fishing the bolts through the frame took some finesse. Installation took me about 90 minutes with the rear wheels on ramps. However, be fully aware on models with dual exhausts like my 2007 Pacifica Limited, the spare tire no longer fits underneath... now, I'm looking for another way to carry the spare efficiently."

Pros: Fit perfectly, Looks great
Cons: none
"I installed this on a CRV and it fit perfectly. I was very impressed. I had a friend help and it took less than 30 minutes. I think it would have taked much longer if I had to do it alone. The fish wire worked with out a problem also. We tied a string on each bolt after they we in position so we could pull them down thru the bracket to get the nut on."

Pros: No Drilling
Cons: Hard to balance by yourself, use a floor jack
"Took about 40 minutes to install on my 07 F-150 4X4 p/u. No drilling and after you get 2 bolts in the brackets the rest is down hill. Ordered at 10:30pm on Thurs, on doorstop on Monday. Great product and the free 2" dorp neck was included."

Good quality and value,
June 8, 2009
By cjb0017

Pros: quick delivery, solid product
Cons: Installation
"Great Product, Built really well. only complaint is my model came with a fish wire to fish the washer and bolt through the bumper frame, and it wasnt long enough wire, or stiff enough, and was a difficult procedure. It worked okay for the first bolt, but by the second bolt the wire wasnt holding the bolt well and I lost it in my frame. Maybe come up with a heavier gauge wire, a bit longer, that threads on the bolt better. My truck is an 06 Dodge Ram. sounds like some of the other vehicles have it easier."

Easy Install,
June 8, 2009
By FishersJeep
from Fishers, IN
|
Pros: Quick and Easy Install
Cons: Slightly Confusing Directions
"Just installed on a 05 Wrangler. Passenger side mounting can be made easier by unbolting the exhaust hanger behind the wheel. This allows you to move the exhaust system a bit to gain better access to the bolts. Driver's side is a piece of cake.
Product looks great too!"

Now this is a great hitch,
May 19, 2009
By CherokeeIndian
from Northwest Alabama
|
Pros: Quality of workmanship and paint finish is excellent on this product and easy to install
Cons: Absolutely none
"This hitch took approximately 30 minutes to install by myself on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I've installed 5 hitches in the past and this one was the easiest by far of any of them. All the nuts and bolts were included in the box and the printed instructions were great. It takes a 18MM wrench or socket to take the two existing bolts out of the bumper and a 3/4" wrench or socket to put the relacement 4 bolts back in. This hitch is well made and looks great on a Jeep."

Pros: Very easy to install. It took us about 20 minutes and we did not have to remove the spare tire.
Cons: None
"It's a real pleasure to find a heavy duty well made part that is made in America. (Wisconsin) It matched up to the holes in the frame perfectly. The instructions said to remove the spare tire but it was not nescessary. A 20 minute job."
