VTL-700 Volante Rainwear,
July 10, 2008
By go6gofrom Spring, TX
"I didn't know too much about this product when I purchased it but I liked the way it looked so I went ahead and got it. Boy am I glad I did! I had it for only two days before needing it in the worst way. I wore it in a torrential downpour and I stayed completely dry. Well except for my feet and hands. I didn't have any rain gear for them and my gloves and boots were soaked. I have since purchased the WPRB-100 Rain Boot Covers and am waiting on the next rain to try them out! Now if I only had something for my hands."

Pros: Looks good, easy in and out, and keeps water out just as advertised Cons: Heat resistance is not the same as heat proof
"I bought this rain suit from JC Whitney at a good price and been using it in the omnipresent Seattle rain. It's easy to get in and out of, and does an excellent job in keeping the rain out. However, a word of caution for Harley riders: be careful the right pant leg will touch that hot open exhaust pipe. Even with heat shields on my pipes, the "heat resistant panels" will melt and get all over your nice shinny chromed pipes - both front and rear. The operative word (or in this case, non-operative) is "resistant", NOT heat "proof". It took a lot of elbow grease to clean up the mess, and my chromed pipes don't look the same as they used to. I like the suit, but to keep from marking up my pipes with melted plastic, I'd sewn some black leather panels (left over from my leather chaps, which I'd also bought from JC Whitney) to the spots where they would touch my pipes and corrected this problem. I would have given this rain suit 5 stars if the manufacturer had used heat proof leather instead of heat resistant nylon at the point where it might touch some hot Harley pipes. Ride safe and enjoy!"
