2001 K2500HD with 8.1L,

Pros: Sounds good, easy install Cons: SS is expensive
"I installed the stainless split rear exhaust on my 2001 Chevy K2500HD with the 8.1L gas engine. Cutting the old exhaust off is not a big deal with a sawzall, and the installation was easy. I had to custom fabricate some rear hangers, as the holes in the frame that the kit says to use were covered by my trailer hitch brackets. The sound is nice on part throttle, fairly quiet at idle. It raps a little at wide open throttle. Cruising down the highway you can definitely hear a little rumble but not too loud. I wouldn't mind it being a little louder, but as a family vehicle it is probably about right. A big improvement over the factory exhaust. I also spent the extra money and bought band style clamps from Summit because the kit supplies standard u-clamps which crimp the exhaust when you install them."

"Looks great, sound good when in 4 cyl mode, and barks when you step on it."
