"The hubcaps look great on my older BMW 525i, so I'm satisfied with the purchase. However, the ones I received are not exactly like the photo above which suggests an overall chrome appearance with black or dark gray bordering the ten cutouts. Instead, the star-shaped area of the hubcap is matt silver with chrome inside the entire area of the ten cutouts (the area inside the lines seen around the five cutout groupings). The border around the outside edge of the hubcap and the simulated wheel lugs are also chrome. In other words, no black or dark gray.

Having said that, there is still a three-tone appearance - the matt silver star-shaped area, the surface chrome, and the recessed chrome surrounding the cutouts. In the end, the hubcaps I received actually look better than the one shown in the photo above. The hubcaps were made in Taiwan, China.

The hubcaps mount with eight metal clips fitted into fairly robust plastic posts. One of the cutouts is slightly longer than the others to accommodate the valve stem (seen at the four o'clock position in the photo above). A metal ring, attached to the clip posts, runs around the entire underside of the hubcap to help hold it in place. The metal ring is bent at a point adjacent to the appropriate cutout to clear the valve stem. All in all, a fairly rugged mounting system.

Mounting was fairly easy. The hubcap was simply centered in the wheel well while aligning the valve stem and tapped into place. I was unable to mount the hubcaps if not centered or one section was inserted unevenly with the rest. However, when worked into place evenly around the entire circumference in small increments, nothing more than gentle taps with a hand was required. Once mounted, I could not pull them back off with my bare hands.

If I had anything negative to say about this order, it would focus on the hubcaps being drop-shipped from a distributer (instead of JC Whitney) and that distributer not shipping to a military APO address. I had to provide the stateside address of a mail forwarding service, paying extra for postage and handling."
