not good!,
May 4, 2009

Cons: On all the time, no instructions, poor tech support.
"Installed on a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. The unit is on all the time unless you unplug the harness from the back of the unit, a pain to say the least. I installed a switch in the power line which takes care of that, however it still activates when the brakes are applied. Tech said it was normal for it to be on all the time. I'm very disappointed in this purchase and if I had known then what I know now I would not have bought it."

Good product...bad support,
April 16, 2009

Pros: Good looking product, simple controls, easy to operate Cons: Extremely poor documentation & support
"I purchased this unit based on the detailed catalog description..."Two LED's make this unit one of the easiest to use!"; "Red LED flashes when an error is detected (error code on the LCD screen lets you know what's malfunctioning)."
That may be true, but if you are not experienced with hooking up automotive electronics this unit can be a nightmare. The only documentation is the brief instruction printed on the packaging which includes the following statement: "Wire color codes vary by manufacturer. Be sure to wire by function only. Please review your vehicle's manual to find vehicle stoplight switch's location and wire color code."
I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra which came with a wiring harness to connect to the brake controller and a simple diagram. The wire colors and function descriptions are completely different from those of the brake controller. Very confusing to say the least.
Once I deciphered the instructions & connected the unit, there was an error code "E-3" on the display. According to the catalog description, the "red LED flashes when an error is detected (error code on the LCD screen let's you know what's malfunctioning)." All true. But there is no explanation of the error codes in the instructions.
So I logged into the company's website for tech support. But the product is apparently so new that it is not even on their website. The Customer Service tab provided an 800 number with the extension for "Tech Support." But when I called the number I got a Tech Rep answer machine instructing me to leave a detailed message, and he would get back to me. I left a message, but still have not gotten a call back.
This looks like a good product. But the documentation and support are extremely poor. Beware!"

Pros: Easy wiring, small unit easy to place. Cons: No off on switch.
"Installed on my 2004 Dodge 1500 pickup, directions were clear and correct, wiring was easy with adapter cable for my truck, the only down side was trailer has to be hooked up to adjust brake level. No off on switch is solved by unpluging quick disconnect plug on rear of unit. With trailer hooked up it only took a few tries to get correct braking adjustment."

Pros: I like the LED. It makes it easier to get same results on next tow. Cons: None.
"I installed this on my 2005 Nissan Nismo Frontier in under an hour, install was easy when using additional brake control adaptor plug that I also purchased here. I owned other controllers in this same price range and am much happier with this one. The LED makes it easy to "dial in" sensitivity of brakes and to repeat the same setting on future towing."
