Pros: No more hand cranking, very powerful
Cons: Weak directions, difficult to install
" This is one of those luxery items for your RV where if you've got the money, they are well worth it. I am no longer physically able to crank down my stabilizers due to back problems, so this was really a neccessity for me. The motors were simple to bolt on to the jacks..had that done in 15 minutes. But the rest was honestly very difficult. The directions were vague, and unless you are an above average do-it-yourselfer, you may want to have these done by a professional. The wiring schematic is really all you have to go on. BAL includes 30 amp breakers with the kit, and it took a little figuring out what they were and how to install them. Everything needs to be wired with #10 gauge wire (stranded), and wire must be run from each motor to the battery. It took me 140 feet of wire for my trailer. The included switches will need to be mounted in a waterproof area like inside a cabinet. I was 9 hours running the wires and completing the installation, not an easy task. BUT...OVERALL...once done the motors are DEFINATELY worth it. They crank down pretty quick, and are quiet. They seem to provide ALOT of torque, so I was able to really mash 'em down. (bear in mind, stabilizer jacks are for stabilizing..NOT jacking up an RV). You are still able to manually crank jacks if power fails, or if you need to give the jacks an extra turn to really crank them. But I couldn't get them to go any further down than what the motors did. I would have rated these a 5 star had the directions been more detailed, and installation been simpler. "
